I had a surprising conversation with two female friends about a couple we know who split up. They contend the internet is to blame because "it makes it easy for a guy to cheat". I had to shake my head at that one before I asked, "So it's acceptable to have a relationship that needs supervision? What happens when he passes a woman on the street?"
Both my female friends agreed they wouldn't allow their men to chat online because it's too easy for them to cheat, and that "That's just the way men are. You have to keep them from temptation." That just blew my mind that a relationship with someone that had to be on a leash was acceptable because they're really nice ladies and shouldn't accept anything less than trust and devotion.
But maybe I am not realistic? Is it acceptable to have a relationship when you have to play supervisor? |
