This is a serious mumm. I need help.
My fiance, who I love with all my heart, is Venezuelan. She is a fully documented American citizen. She married an American citizen and moved to the United States in 1990.
All throughout this election process, she has been talking about how much she hates Donald Trump, and has called him racist, xenophobic, misogynist, and all other sorts of things. She went to Chicago during the election to visit her daughter, who attends college there, and they got involved in the protests, painting blood tears on their faces, and walked the streets. I don't think she was one of the people blocking traffic, and I hope not.
We have been arguing a lot during this whole process. She thinks I am not supportive enough of her.
I come from a mostly white family, mostly white neighborhood, and went to a mostly white school. "White privilege" surrounds me, so I don't understand entirely what she goes through.
I work at a job with a lot of Mexican anchor babies. I say it that way not to be disrespectful, but because that's the way it is. I have asked many of them how they feel about Trump, and if they are worried about being deported, and they all say "no".
So, if they are not worried, and my fiance, who is fully documented, (and a certified Spanish court interpreter, btw), is losing her mind, what should I do?
Please, if you have a heart, and you care about the good, and important things in life, leave a sincere, honest, heartfelt comment below. This is the only woman I have ever truly loved in my entire life. |
