TRUE REFLECTION
I feel it's all too easy,
In this shallow day and age
To compare your outer beauty,
to that on a magazine.
The hair, the smile,
And flawless skin.
The tan, the height,
How beautifully thin!
Yet, "the look" on you
Never turns out right.
When you measure up,
It's always, nope, not quite.
So I say, take a look
At yourself without the mirror.
And maybe then within yourself,
Your beauty will be clearer.
True-models they are beautiful,
The skin, the clothes, the face.
But superficial beauty,
In time will be erased.
True beauty lies within you,
From loving who you are.
The passion for the things you do,
In life will take you far.
So remember to look inward,
And set aside your pride,
And there will be your beauty,
Shining deep inside.
