Tribute to you

Grandpa"Walter Paul Fijalkowski" Words could never express the love and admiration I have for my grandfather, a few moments, minutes, hours, and even now after his death. He was a husband of 61 years, A grandfather, and a 'great' Grandfather. Although my grandfather had 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, him and my grandmother always knew how to make each one of us feel special and important. Whenever anyone asked him about his family, he told them that, "all of us were beautiful and intelligent, and that he loved each of us very much." The one thing that my grandfather felt was important for us all, other than being a family, was us getting a education, he said, "With your education, you can do anything, and once you have it, no one can ever take it away." "try to remain close, because you can achieve more, and it will mean more to you if you have each other to share it with. Remember if one of you is hurting, all of you are hurting. Pull each other up, never tear anyone down, and always do your best, and remember if you do that, Me and your grandmother will always be proud of you." his children He loved each of his kids equally, and never played favorites. he said, "My kids and like my hand, I have five kids, one for each finger, and if you cut any one of them off, he'd be in a world of pain." Grandma Grandpa always said that 'you' were the best thing that ever happened to him, and that you truly were the love of his life, and he was proud of the 5 kids and the 61 years you gave him. My grandfather was one of those hardworking men, who always got his way. He could fix anything, as long as he had some zip~ties and some duct-tap. Whatever he said was the law.. He always taught us to stand up for what we believed in, and to never let anyone tell us otherwise. Even though he was rough, as we all got older, we realized that he was a caring, compassionate and loving person, and that he made us stronger by being so rough. I know he is watching us now, and is proud of what we have become. we are all who we are now, because of him. he never showed his feelings, but when you did good, you knew, because you saw his smile. and at that point you felt like you owned the world and you could achieve anything. my grandfather showed strength till the end, and I will try and live the way he did. I know i'll be filling huge shoe's, but I will try hard, I know I can do it, because I had a great mentor. Grandpa I know I will see you again someday, but until then, please protect and guide us. I will never forget you. You will live in our hearts as long as we live. I will always miss your hugs, and how you saw the good in everything. I now cling to every moment I had with you. Just to have those memories, and just having you for 18 years, I will be forever grateful. Where-ever you journey may take you. I hope that they salute you. You truly were my greatest hero, and you've touched the lives of alot of people. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA.. ~and i want you to know, it will always be a honor to carry on your name. Rest In Peace Grandpa.
