About four and a half years ago my son called me wanting a large amount of money I didn't have to pay an attorney with the hope of avoiding prison time.
I asked what he did, and as angry as what he did made me I politely let him know I didn't have that kind of cash. Since then he has acted as if I let him down.
My father raised me with the concept that if I "Screwed the pooch" so to speak it was up to me to handle the result.
My ex-wife raised my son (while denying me any visitation) with the concept he should beg others for money to cover his mistake, no matter how unforgivable.
Help me make up my mind:
Option A: Letting him take his own heat for his own screw up was right
Option B: Bailing him out so he could screw up again was the right thing to do |
