Last night my boyfriend and I went out to dinner. We haven't been out in a while cuz of our work schedules so it was nice to get out. We had a $100 gift certificate for what I was told was a nice restaurant so we took the oppotunity to go. This is supposed to be one of the top restaurants to go to...
I was very disappointed first of all with the service. We didn't go out until about 9pm but when we got there we were told there were no tables, even though I saw several empty ones. It took about 15 minutes before anyone even came up to us to ask if we even wanted a table! The place wasn't even busy!!
Next we were told to go sit in the lounge area, that the food there was the same and we could sit right away. We went over there and it took about 10 minutes for someone to come and ask us if we wanted a drink. My boyfriend ordered a beer and I asked for a Pina Coloda. Safe enough order considering it was a bar type setting. I was told they didn't have them so to be safer (there was no drink menu or ANY menu given to us) I ordered a Pepsi lol.
We got our drinks and then the server asked if we wanted a food menu...well DUH! We got our menus but I was already disgusted with both the service and the atmosphere. If we weren't trying to use up the gift certificate I seriously would have walked out. I didn't get dressed up for nothing!
We finally get our food which was lukewarm. I ordered the prime rib with baked potato and carrots. I also got a side of sauteed mushrooms and a salad. They had poured so much dressing on the salad I couldn't eat it. They had also plunked down some type of cracker for us to eat which were stale as I discovered on the first bite. It looked like it was supposed to be some kind of flat bread but it was really a stale pie shaped cracker with nothing on it lol.
My prime rib was ok but I've had some pretty damn good prime rib in my life and this didn't really even resemble it. It was more like soggy roast beef, lukewarm and covered in broth. My carrots had NO flavour at all and the potato was blah. The mushrooms were overcooked..I was sorely disappointed. My boyfriend's food was basically the same deal.
On top of the bad food we didn't see our server much at all. I didn't finish my food so my boyfriend hunted her down to pay for the meal so we could just get the hell outta there. She bagged up my leftovers and then informed us that since we didn't use up the whole $100 gift certificate she could only reissue another one for the remaining amount which would not even cover a meal. My boyfriend bartered with her and had to give her a HUGE tip out of it to get some cash back lol.
So, all in all, my one night out in months and it totally sucked! We couldn't get out of there fast enough!
