I love the Xbox 360 for myself, but I'll only buy one once I have a high def. TV. My daughter, fiancee and I have a blast on the Wii sports games, though!
For computers...if you can pickup a copy of Postal 2: Share The Pain (there's two copies of Postal 2...share the pain includes online multiplayer mode), do it! It's nothing great, but it's fun to run around and kill each other in either deathmatches, team deathmatches or snatch the bitch (capture the flag). The pirated copies even work for the online multiplayer.
