It is now officially winter in the "Great White North".A so called "downtime" for motorcycle riders. This is something new to me.All of my life I have been able to ride year round.Though the thought of being able to take the time to tear your bike down and go over everything is a good idea to me.There is only one small problem,MY FUCKING BIKE IS IN FLORIDA....
Now this isnt news to me,I left it there months ago.I have contemplated getting it shipped here, but a lack of ends has proven this futile.I have also thought about just buying something here to pass time.I have been itching to build something. The only thing is bikes are fucking COSTLY here.Even bikes people give away down south are 2-3 thousand dollars.I have resorted to posting wanted ads on kijiji for peoples junk(I actually titled an ad that).Only to have some fuckstick try to sell me an evolved basketcase for $1000.I have one chance at getting something of a buy.A guy from work has a mid-60s Bonneville sitting in his garage. He wont sell it now he says, but he says he might...W/e the fuck that means.I never understood the "I will let it rot before I sell it" mentality.
My boss travels down to my fathers home state often.I have been tossing around the idea of asking him to bring my bike back with him,but then I still have the problem of getting it from FL to NC.Even if I got it here the chances of it ever being registered are slim to shit.
On a brighter note.My explotations on Kijiji and just plan meandering around Halifax have led me to meet some good people with connections.I have the low down on any 70's XS650 parts anyone person would need and a classic bike shop that can handle the wiring.I have had a couple leasons in the art of powdercoating and junk collecting. So atleast I am moving forward.Cheers until next rant.Tatoe
