What are you waiting for?

I want to thank everyone in Colorado and elsewhere throughout the country that continue to support the troops. As I am about to embark on my second tour of Iraq I am reminded how fortunate I am to wake up every morning and wear this uniform. Thank you for giving me that chance, I am truly blessed. Shean Leigon, SSgt, USAF, Colorado Springs, Colo. I want to thank everyone out there that supports me and all my buddies. I recently returned back from a year-long tour in Iraq and it was hell, but all the support that I got while I was out there made life that much easier. When a total stranger comes up to me and just says thank you, or start a conversation with me about things that I have done and where I have been over the past few years and how much they really are interested is way more satisfying then any paycheck that I receive. Thank you everyone!! SPC HEIDE, WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (FORT BRAGG, NC) SPC Heide, Marc, Wilmington, Del. Thank you America for all of your support. I am not currently in Iraq but will do my tour eventually. Nothing is more motivating then knowing that people back home support us. God bless all of you. PV2 Romeo United States Army Reserves, Clifton Park, N.Y. Thank you all very much for your support. Mostly I want to thank the spouses for their support too. I am married and I love my wife more than anything. I know this has been hard on us, but no matter how bad it's getting she is still there. I know the husbands and wives and children are under a lot of stress when we are gone so thank you. As for all the other people, thank you too just as much I just think that the families should get some recognition because without their support, we wouldn't be able to do this. So thank you all. Daniel Tate Spc ARMY, CARLINVILLE, Ill. As a National Guard soldier deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, it's very encouraging to see the American people speak out in support of us, especially since the media tends to be very harsh on what we are doing here. It's good to know that Americans are standing with us. Thanks for your support! Spc. Shaun Rieley, 58th BCT, 29th Infanty Division, U.S. Army, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Millsboro, Del. Thank you America for all you support for the troops sationed in harm's way. Thank you for sending the kind words and including us in your prayers. I would also like to thank Mr. John Sleuter of McKinleyville, Calif. Sir, I am unsure of how you know me but I thank you for your kind words. It surprized me to see my name in your message. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is comforting to know that people back home believe in the soldiers stationed overseas and it makes life a little easier to cope with. To my family, thank you for the love and the well wishes, I will try to get home soon... Autumn Burns/ SPC/ ARMY, Lancaster CA All I can say is THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support on the homefront. Jayme Richerds Corporal Marines, Livonia, Mich. Wow, this site is amazing. Although I may not be fighting over in Iraq like some other service members, I found comfort in the words and prayers from everyone back home. I miss my family and can't wait to get back and see them all. Thank you! IT3(SW/AW) April Simon, USN, Yokosuka Japan, Jackson, Mich. I'm not much for words, but I had to thank everyone for all your heartfelt messages. It is truly an inspiration to hear your support. Thank you. Warren, N. Sgt, USMC, Salt Lake City Thank you for the support! Knowing Americans are behind its Armed Forces gives great hope for the future of our country and its children. While being a citizen soldier here in Iraq having a family I look forward to seeing again gives me great pleasure to know they are being cared for and supported at home as well. America, Thank You, for being the land of the free! Steven Bauer SGT, MN Army National Guard, Maple Grove, Minn. I would just like to thank everyone for there support. I have noticed lately that there are a lot of anti-war people doing retarded stuff. I understand they don't like this war, but we, as soldiers, have no say what we do or go. But for all you military families and friends, Thank you very much. You don't know how good it feels to receive packages and letters from little kids and loving families. Thanks! Baldwin SGT Army, Roseboro, N.C. Currently deployed aboard a ship in the South Pacific in support of numerous missions. Thank you for all your prayers and concerns for all the service men and women serving our great nation. OSCS Brian Bohn, Cheboygan MI. USN, Cheboygan, Mich. I just want to take the time to say Thank you to all of my fellow Americans and "Maineiacs" who have supported myself and others through my deployments on Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Deny Flight/Provide Promise, Bosnia, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom...It means the world to all of us in uniform to know that you have our backs. I am always proud to tell people who I am from Bangor, ALL GI's know the reception they will receive if they get lucky enough to pass through Bangor (I have yet to be fortunate enough to have that happen on any of my deployments)...Your Patriotism and support makes my heart swell with pride...Thank you and God Bless. MSgt Kyle B. Neal, Bagram Air Field Afghanistan MSgt Kyle B. Neal (USAF), Bangor Happy New Year to each and every one of you!! I have proudly served our Navy for almost 18 years now and never knew how large a support group we had all over the U.S. It is truly awesome and reading some of the letters has left me with serious chicken skin. I am a single mom of two young daughters and deploying, leaving them behind, has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Thanks to so much appreciation, support, prayers and encouraging words - it makes me realize the temporary separation, although very hard, is worth it - every bit of it. Thank you so much for standing behind us, praying for us and being so proud of us - I, for one, appreciate you and all your efforts more than words can say! God Bless. YN1(AW) Stacey Hopfe, USN, Kailua I've been serving in the USAf for 8 years, and I am currently stationed in San Antonio, Texas. I wanted to take a minute and thank all who support the military at home and abroad. These past 5 years have been rough on the military and the image of the military. Deploying away from my home, my family and my friends was one of the toughest things to do, but I will willingly go again. I want to thank everyone for their support and unfaltering love, encouragement, and stick-through-it attitudes: being there for the troops regardless of political views and opinions. Our guys are out there every night, and the support from our friends and family back home, even support from our neighbors whose names we might not even know, helps us stay strong and fight through it so we can defend our country and come home safe at the end of the day. We love you and thank you for being there. Heather L. Shields, SSgt, USAF, Rochester, N.H. To all the people who send things for the Marines and other branches when we were in the Sand Box, we really do receive it, and majority of us at the time we needed or wanted it. Thank you Jones, Walter/ Cpl/ USMC, hazel crest, Ill. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU FOR THE SUPPORT AND THE CONTINUED GIFTS.. YOU REALLY KEEP US GOING SOMETIMES... THANKS SCHUCHHARDT, J. G. SGT US ARMY, BAMBERG, S.C. Thanks to all who support us and our families that are left behind. A special thanks goes to the military welcomers in Bangor, Maine. They were at the airport at midnight on New Year's eve this year to see us (myself and my Marines) off on our way to Iraq. These folks will probably never know what that means to those of us who had just left our families to be gone for a year or more. What a true blessing it was to know that there are still people out there who love and support us. Many thanks to you all. GOD bless you. Respectfully, O.W.Hartman HM1(SW) Olen Hartman HM1(SW) USN, Jay, OK, N.C. Thank you to all the people who are "behind the scenes" of AMERICA SUPPORTS YOU!! It's great to know that there are people out there who care about "us" (the troops) and are doing something to show your support. GOD BLESS AMERICA!! Y.A., SSgt, USAF USAF , Neb. Happy new year America! Thank you for your support, it means a lot to all of us who serve. But don't forget our spouses and children who sacrifice just as much if not more while fight for you. Thank you again. Dierks/HM2(FMF/AW)/Navy, De Soto, Mo. I'm currently serving in Korea. It can get pretty tough, especially around the holidays, without friends and family, but it would be impossible without the support of our nation. Thanks for everything. It means more than any of you could imagine. David Beezley A1C USAF, Monroe, La. HAPPY NEW YEAR! I want to 1st Thank My LORD & SAVIOR for keeping us ALL safe through the 2006 year here in Baghdad, Iraq. 2nd My family and friends for their support. 3rd My Church Family in Fayetteville, NC (Fort Bragg). Lastly I want to THANK YOU ALL in America for the support and prayers you have given us Soldiers during this hardship time. I never thought that just a small state could make such a big difference at a much needed time. I left RI ten years ago to join the Army. I have only had two visits back since. I miss you all and I would give the world to see you all. Please continue to pray for ALL the Soldiers here. A special prayer request for the Military Police here. We have lost many and need all the support and words of encouragement daily. I am proud to be an AMERICAN. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Hello, to the CLASS OF 1988 GO WIZARDS 1LT SPEIGHT, RITA HHC, 16TH MP BDE (ABN) APO AE 09342 1LT(P) Rita Speight (Waldeck), MP, US ARMY, West Warwick, R.I. Hello fellow Texans. I just wanted to thank all of you for the support. I can assure you that we, as Texans and Americans, are serving proudly and doing the best job that we can. As our fathers and grandfathers learned when they served, "aint nothing free". When times get hard, we look to the people at home, i.e. family, friends and neighbors, to reassure us that we are doing the right thing and to know that our service is being supported. So, thank you for all the support!!! It is appreciated... Johnny Holder Texas Army National Guard SPC Johnny Holder, Texas Army National Guard, Lindale, TX (via Brownwood/San Saba) I just hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas and that all received the love and comfort that they needed and or deserved.
