My dearest grandma I’ve come today
To finally say what I’ve wanted to say
I don’t quite know where to start
Because this is coming straight from my heart
Born February 22, 1924 with a beautiful face
Passed August 9, 1994 to a peaceful place
August 13th I cried and grieved so long
Trying for you, to keep my heart strong
I’m missing you with all my heart
I wasn’t ready for you to part
I think and dream of you everyday
Even sometimes it makes me feel grey
Sometimes I wake at night
I don’t know if it’s true…that sight
Your standing there beside my bed
Your sweet hand touching my head
It makes me feel warm, safe, and at peace
Even though you should be deceased
Your spirit will live on forever
Me forget you…I couldn't ever
Your body may already be gone
With me, your soul will always live on
I’ll come visit as much as I can
