What are you waiting for?

Grab some tissues before you read any further! THIS ONE IS FOR EVERY WOMAN WHO LOVES A MILITARY MAN!! Maybe we all need a reminder... and maybe some of us have never stopped to consider... Its been three months since she has hugged her boyfriend. Only a handful of letters, and a picture by her bed to remind her that she hasn't dreamed him up... That he is indeed really her prince charming. Each day she goes to class, goes to work, and comes home exhausted... yet still sits down to write him a nightly letter. She sits in those bleachers... scanning the straight lines for his face. She longs to reach out and touch him, but she knows that she must somehow wait... She sees out of the corner of her eye his mom watching her, and for the millionth time she wishes she could explain how much it meant to her to see this herself, to show him she supports his choice... and to somehow show his family she isn't trying to intrude or take their place... In Georgia, this girl crawls into bed in a dark lonely room. All day she has worked at a local day care, and kept a cheerful smile on her face, but in the silence of her own apartment, she suddenly can't be strong. She lets the silent tears fall, and wonders how much longer she must wait to see her boyfriend. Its been 6 months, and she wishes his training would move along a little faster so she could look into his deep green eyes again and make him laugh. She rolls over and tries to think about the projects she has been working on for work, but her mind wonders back to him, and the loneliness she can't explain envelops her once again... Just 45 minutes down the road, a young college student is laughing with her friends at a movie. But secretly, she is trying to hide her tears, and praying that the laughter will somehow numb the pain she is feeling. Her older brother is deployed, and her younger brother leaves tomorrow. She only wishes she could somehow be there with her mom, who is alone and left to work all day and come home to an empty house full of her fears... In Michigan, a young woman carefully consults her calendar, then places another X through the date. One less day until her fiance will be fighting this war... one day closer to their wedding date, which can't be set until he gets back. She once again prays he will live to see their wedding... and to help raise their children one day. She also offers up a prayer for her neighbor... her husband won't be coming home. She remembers that some guys he went to boot camp with are coming into town, and she mentally makes a note to find out their favorite food and beer so she can have them over... he would want her to do that for his brothers. I came home, and glanced at the clock. I know with the time difference, he won't be calling tonight. I get ready for bed, and try to smile... I know he can't help not calling, I try to force the smile that I fake all day at school... but in the comfort of my own apartment, there is no point. I let the tears fall freely, and wonder how much longer I can go without hearing from him. The next afternoon, we all log into our computers. We send each other e-mails, write posts, and try to encourage each other. Because once we log out, the smiles come back. We are the few lucky girls to have such wonderful military men in our lives, and we know that the rest of the world won't understand our loneliness or fears. As much as the moms try, we know sometimes we can't explain to them how we feel either. We pray for your sons more than you know... even those of you who have never spoken to us. When one of you complains about your sons girlfriend, we pray for understanding and communication between the mom and the girl... we have been there, and stepped on toes ourselves. We did not pick this way of life, it was picked for us. But we march on... we smile bravely and encourage our men even when the words coming out of their mouth makes no sense to us. We spend HOURS asking questions and researching so that we will know the next time those acronyms come out of their mouths. And moms... we cry with you, for you, and beside you. These are your children, but they are also the men we love. Many of us wait with a ring on our finger... planning a wedding that we pray they will get leave for. And as we watch the news... we see our boyfriends, fiances, husbands, brothers, sisters, cousins, classmates and friends in each face... and we pray for their families, because we know how hard it is for them. Please remember us in your prayers tonight... many of us are young and are more scared than we would ever admit. And many of us want what you do.... a hug, some encouragement, and a friend who understands.... Author Unknown ~~MY HEART IS WITH MY SOLDIER..... SUPPORT OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN THE MILITARY.... SUPPORT OUR TROOPS..... GOD BLESS THEM ALL AND BRING THEM HOME SAFE.... USA!!!~~
