If a friend of yours (someone who you have known for a couple of years) had a child that did something you don't approve of and none of the parents are going to be around for awhile. Is it o.k. to discipline them even though they might endanger themselves or others? Now discipline the child in a civil matter. Not by brutal bloody force, but maybe a slap/tap on bottom or hand... Now you will have to fess up and tell the parent of what actions you just took so be real....
