My new CAM just blew my nonrenewal record at the store. We had hit the closing number every cycle (twice a month) since January 1st this year (with me as CAM) and he ruins it. Ugh!
People who put their social life and family before their job sicken me. I'm required to work 55hours a week and I put in roughly 70hours every week with no off days. He can't even seem to work 12pm-9pm or 7:30-5pm on a Saturday. Strictly a 9-5 guy...Bah!
Hell I spent Thanksgiving alone trying to set a game plan for the remainder of this month's nonscycle. Give me a break, like his wife and kids are that important!
OK, before I start getting blasted for an apparent lack of a soul... I worked 12 hours today and I'm currently cooking a HUGE pot of chili for everyone at work so it's not like I don't like my employees. I just don't like it when they use their family as an excuse not to work through their lunchbreaks and give up their off days for the rest of eternity.
I suffer for my work and, obviously at 26 and 6 years of management experience, I am rewarded for my efforts. I'm sure some people would rather be in their mid thirties and have a family who loves them and makes them feel needed when they come home, but I'd rather have tangible, cold numbers to show my net worth.
Maybe when I'm older I'll regret alienating everyone I've even known and all the opportunities lost yadda yadda, but in the meantime my job never treats me like shit or wanders off to go party when I'm not looking.
