THROUGH DARK VEILED DREAMS
If I could find a sweet dream yet unbroken,
A tender word so innocently spoken,
A river running free and clear,
A sigh, a smile, a heartfelt tear.
I'd wrap them up within my heart,
And on dove's wings with love so dear,
All these I would to you impart.
If I could find the promise of forever,
A hand that never leaves you stranded ever,
A flower of such fragrant, heady scent,
It opens up your heart for me to rent,
An angelic space reserved for love’s ingress,
Enticing soft dispatching winds intent,
On nothing but to give my love’s redress.
Even though my feet of clay,
Sometimes forbid me to betray,
Emotions lying in a secret place,
Where they set restraint upon my face,
What else have I to give while yet I live,
With heart-kept sketches yet to trace,
Of deepest feelings I fear to give.
How mysterious, bittersweet life seems to be,
Suppression and repression are enemies of the free,
Through dark veiled dreams a small light gleams,
From your loving heart the sunshine streams,
Awakening a still-born mute to destiny,
Through dark veiled dreams a dim light gleams,
To softly shine upon us, as I give myself to thee.
