HoneyPie's blog: "so."

Thoughts and wonders. =)

Allow me to start by first saying that I am a woman who carries her own light, who would never leave a friend in the dark. Over the years I have come to realize that people are what people do. Actions do in fact speak volumes over words. You do not just tell someone you're their friend, that you love them, or that you will never break their heart. you show them by enlightening their life with your presence. In the process you do everything in your being not trip over someone Else's genitalia. This my friend is being true to yourself and your word to others.

With that being said I am a genuine woman, raised by a single mother of" two" who struggling to just keep food on the table. The one man that did manage to offer some kind of influence in my life taught me That not all man are the same.

I may not have been born & fed with a silver spoon. I may not have always had brand new things growing up but that didn't mean I wasn't already surrounded by the very thing that mattered the most, the love of my mother. Through witnessing her very own trials and tribulations she has shown me so much about respect, respecting, as well as being respected. She has shown me that you're only as tall as the mountains you climb and that happiness isn't just a matter of what you have, but what you are capable of in your heart.

All these life experiences have brought up a lot of questions in my mind. For instance. How long will it be until you meet that one person you will spend your life with? The fact is that most of us see hundreds, if not thousands of people weekly. Is there one person that could steal your heart away if only you take a second to say hello? Is there a chance that you didn't see them seeing you and the both of you just missed out on your perfect opposite?

Is there some chance that we have already lost our soul mate? Is there a chance that we have already let them go by listening to our logic instead of our hearts. Thinking that things will be better this way. Not knowing that we would never find anyone who can even closely compare to this person. Not knowing that this person would have been there for us when we had no one else in this world. Not knowing that we just let go the one person who could have kept us smiling the rest of our life. Not knowing that this was the person we would sit on our porch with one day, old, tired, watching the sun set together. Not knowing that it would be this person who would keep us from feeling so alone as we hold their wrinkly old hand and die, leaving this world knowing that they would love us even after we were gone. How many people do you believe die all alone of old age everyday, laying in their beds as their eyes start to close for the very last time, feeling the energy leave their body, scared and not knowing what comes next, wondering where the person who would have held their hand through it was? What if you have already passed on your hand holder, your soulmate, and the love of your life? What if you will meet them tomorrow?

I wonder about these things and the fact is that our future is unclear, so unclear in fact that it scares most of us into places where we "belong" such as religious groups, organizations, and even cults. Places where we don't have to be so alone and there isn't so much uncertainty. We search for these answers relentlessly but the truth is no one and no group can give them to us. Our destiny isn't clear like a window, but closed like a door. Why do we need so badly to see though it, when we can so easily take a step into it. "Why" is a question that we have asked ourselves since the day we were born. Yet since the day we were born we have continued to live and grow without ever knowing the answer. Maybe this isn't an answer we were ever meant to know, but yet a question that will carry us through our lives in search of it. The lesson here; Life is but what we make of it. There are certain aspects and opportunities in life that are only there for that moment. We either Seize the instance or forget it ever existed. Once we pass on them they are forever left in the traces of our personal history, and may never be rediscovered. So instead of looking at the world with eyes wide shut, we should actually embrace the light, see what's in front of us, and then go after what's real, instead of chasing what might be, before it ends up being what might have been.
