What are you waiting for?

what is going on here?? I post comments, I rate, but all but a few return the favor. All I see in the repeat ads for lounges, ways to make fubucks during happy hours. Where's the fun, the connection, the finding each other. Very few read my bulletins, my comments get messages in return, but then I reply to the messages and they are ignored. I have said it before, and I will say it again, we are losing the point of this site, which is to make friends, make connections, have fun. let's come together again, send fun comments, read each other's comments, bulletins, and enjoy each other. I can write this because I know few will read it and none will repost it, but at least I have said my piece.
This Thanksgiving would have been my dad's 77th birthday. If you have read my blogs, you would know he died almost 2 months shy of his 76th birthday. Yes, I miss him, but he could be a real ass when the two fell together. Well, he could be an ass, no matter what time of the year, you know how fathers are. Thing is, I'm torn, altho, I mourn his death on this, his most recent birthdya, should I be glad he didn't have to share it with a holiday?? P.S. He hated that JFK was assassinated on the same day, altho he was a republican....lmao

Great Quotes on Religion

Anon: "You can safely assume that you've created God in your own image, when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do." Rev. Tony Campolo: "We are furious that the religious right has made Jesus into a Republican. That’s idolatry. To recreate Jesus in your own image rather than allowing yourself to be created in Jesus’ image is what’s wrong with politics." Jim W. Martyn, "I suggest that people who express hatred towards others do so because they are unable to love themselves or God. That's sad, and unfortunately causes many of the social and political problems in our nation and world." Stephen Roberts, a strong Atheist talking to a theist: "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." Xenophanes, an ancient Greek philosopher: "If horses had Gods, they would look like horses!" bullet See dozens of other quotes about God
From this point forward, I will rate anyone that rates me less than an 6 on any of my pics or my profile, I will rate them 1 point higher on their profile, then I will block them from my site so I don't have to deal with them in the future
OK, I don't know where to begin, but I am just as guilty as anyone here, but I think we are losing the point of why CherryTap was created. We are all supposedly here to make new friends, get to know one another. But all that is getting lost in the whole, get the points, move up, ignore who we are talking to. I have been chewed out for sending someone kisses, because they are CT married to another, ignored by the people posting the blasts, even thought they say they will respond to everyone that rates, comments, or fans them. This is starting to become a points game, where everyone is just a pawn in the hands of the people that can afford to become a VIP or buy a blast. Now don't get me wrong, I have a lot of good friends that are VIP's and we chat alot, am talking about some of the others that hold it over our heads to get the points. Let take back control of the site, get to know our CT neighbors, interact with them, and find good friends. Going forward, I will take the time to look at each profile, and only rate the picture, blogs, or stashes that I like, and comment when I feel the urge. I will rate and greet with a comment those that look interesting to me. I hope the rest of my friends will do the same I have been repost the same bulletin for the last couple of days, stating that I am getting fed up with the way things are going here. Now I am annoucing that I am place a hierarchy on the people I add to my lists. anyone that requests an add, I will fan the people I talk to occasionally talk to, will be friends, and the ones I talk to alot will be family. I am doing this in an effort to manage my online time here more efficently. I am tired of wasting my time commenting people that never reply back. I expect to complete the cleaning out of my lists over the next few days. If you feel I have removed you incorrectly, I'm sorry, you can message me and state your case. Those of you that truly are my friends and family have nothing to worry about. Thank you

Missing the point here

All I have been hearing lately about who people are going to vote for next election seems to be based on race or sex, Obama or Clinton. Seems to me we need to know more about what they are running on, let's talk issues. All the campaign ads attack the opponents, and show good family people. It doesn't tell us how they will vote on specific issues. We need to be holding them to the issues, where do they stand on the environment, the war in Iraq, social reform. Let's start asking to tough questions now, before we just get more of the same.

supporting the troops

supporting the troops isn't the same thing as supporting the war. After all, the current adminstration isn't supporting them. We went into this war under false premises, didn't give them the equipment they needed, and spread them too thin to do any good. Then tried to put in a government headed up by a man that is wanted by at least 2 Middle-Eastern Governments for monetary fraud. Now that the public is waking up to the non-commitment to the war, the current administration is trying to place a bandaid by only commiting 30,000 new troops when the advisory commitee recommented at least 3 to 4 times that many. And we never should have gone in because had nothing to do with 9/11. We all ready had our troops committed to Afganistan. As far as I am concerned, they should be impeached for perjury for the lies they told the UN and the American public. So, just let it be said, I support the troops because they are doing their job by following their orders, but not the war, because we got there for all the wrong reasons, but now we have to fix the problems we caused

what's wrong here??

what's wrong with my thinking here?? I have spent most of my life, bouncing from job to job, mainly because I lost daycare because my ex would pay them while she had custody. I had alot of friends help me out. Now I am getting on my feet, I will loan people money and , of course they are supposed to pay me back. Of course, that doesn't alway happen, but it's ok. Remember the golden rule?? Also, I am the world's worst housekeeper, am a total slob when I want to be (it comes from years of being alone). I really didn't care. I still have my son living with me, don't charge him much to live here, although he is 22. I loan my daughter and son in law money to buy a car or rent a new house, while I live in a run down mobile home. I give my mom $100 a month to repay her for the money she has given me over the years. Now am being told I need counselling because I let people walk all over me. I admit; I have my insecurities and defense mechanisms, but, who doesn't?? Ok, will look into some counselling, talk it over and see if I am doing myself harm

politics as usual

the current situation in Washington, DC is typical of politics in action. Rep. Mark Foley, R-FL, co-founder of the Expoilted and Missing Children, activist against gay rights, has admitted to flirting with and sending explicit text messages to teenage pages in Congress. He has now come out of the closet and admitted he is gay, but blames his problem on alcohol and being molested as a child. this is another story of the false front politicos put on to get elect and represent no one but themselves and corporations, not the people who elect them
