Like a sudden cold wind which gushes and blows
I feel an extraneous chill dominate my heart
And I start to shiver unwittingly
All movement surrounding me
Cunningly submits to slow motion
Sounds emitted reverberating deep in grave tone
Everything reluctantly grinding into a state of paralysis
Within I sense the oncoming heady rush
And an overwhelming darkness begins to pervade
Breathing untempered and somewhat laboured
A distinct pulsating thud presiding inside my head
Limbs heavy, yet no physical pain
Urge to cry out met with an inexplicable inability
Eventually, I too am rendered motionless and emotionless
I feel trapped in a dark abyss
The icy wind snarling; a maddening maelstrom
I suddenly gasp,
And retaliate with resolute unprecedented vigour
Though my eyes are blurred,
Down my cheeks I feel a cool moistness
Realising then it’s a rivulet of tears flows ceaselessly
Splattering silently to the ground
Like the start up of a merry-go-round at a fun fair
The absence of silence slowly breaks
The oppression begins to lift
Tentatively I take small breaths
Simultaneously trying to control the gasps
In between cold and uncontrolled shivers
In the brief preceding moment
I was weakened and left vulnerable
Having experienced a tremendous emotional heartache!
