Good morning. As I took a trip down msn .com to see what in the world was going on, I noticed the same ole same ole. Yeah the war in Iraq is still raging on, I actually thought to myself wouldn’t it be nice if it read the last of the troops from here and other countries helping out there were airborne and on there way home to their families and loved ones… no luck on that story.
I thought ok, let’s look a little further and see what else in the world is transpiring. I see a video entitled “Lost and Injured baby Elephant rescued. Hmmm not earth shattering news there. So I delved onward looking here and there. Not seeing much of anything worth while. Then there it was…under the Money tab. I almost never follow any story in that file. I think mostly what is in there is what that want you to hear mostly. What they want you to do. Basically banks special interest groups trying to lure someone out of their hard earned money. But this story caught my eye. The title was; “The Rules on Plastic”
Wow!! There are rules? I just thought it was a piece of plastic that allowed world travel, meals, entertainment, clothes, necessities of all kinds and those often referred to as necessary but not. Rules, hmmm now I have to look at this a different way. Perhaps it’s not the all important magic plastic able to bail one out of a dismal life. Able to give one that all important step in the wrong direction to keep up with the Johnson’s. Who are the Johnson’s and how in the heck did they get into my missive? Rules on plastic… I looked into the article and it showed various things of importance which I did not think it were very important at all until reading on. One article was titled; “Who checks your Credit” another was titled;” ‘Good’ credit is good enough” and then the last three articles were Estimate your Score, 5 minute guide and lastly Search: An Ebay for loans… Those are scary finds. First off, the part where it said, who checks your credit floored me. Landlords, Insurers, Lenders, Employers and Cell phone companies. My word! That explains a lot. The all important dollar has many viewers protecting it, or keeping track of it. You know the average household has 4 credit cards, 2 car loans, 2 mortgages and perhaps 2 phone bills let alone various other necessities as power, water, garbage collection, food…oh my lord the list goes on and on…no wonder there are so many interested parties over looking our spending habits. Now take into consideration you have all those interested over lookers looking into how you do what you do and when you do it where…my gosh that came out perfect…ok onward. No wonder the world is in turmoil over money. You know. Money is the root of all evil, honestly it is. People die over it, steal it, steal things to get it, work for it, pay it and play with it…But for without it many feel inadequate. With it many feel superior. Let’s do this. Let’s not make it our life. Because if you keep striving to get it more then you live your life without it…did you live at all? When asked of those who were on their dying bed and the number one question each answered to this question was: What if you could do your life all over again what would you do different? Work less; enjoy my family and surroundings better… Wow, that about sums it up. If you look around people are people, are people. We all are the same, we all have various body structures that make us either male, female or other…other is…well that is another story for another day. But one thing is true. We are all similar and have similar spending habits and want habits, and need habits… Rules… rules for plastic…I would like to go back to the fifties and sixties. Keeping up with the Johnson’s meant having a bar-b-que the same night, sitting outside when they did… not a more expensive car, kids in foreign schools or colleges… rules for plastic? Ok here is one… Do with out it. Save your money pay with cash! Rules for Wednesday have a wonderful one.
