JC The Forbidden Wolf's blog: "The Wolf"

The wolf has returned from his absence from the pack. He has put many miles under his feet and has been in some feirce battles. As he returns to where he left the den and the rest of the pack, a fear slightly jolts him. What if they dont accept me back, what if things have changed. What if they dont understand why i left. It was for thier safety that i led the enemy away. and could not return untill it was safe. He sniff around the opening to the den. Nothing. Its been deserted. Sorrow fills his canine heart. Oh how he missed them. How he thought of them often. I must find them, rings in his ears. But the sorrow is too great right now, his heart is heavy. he must rest. The wolf crawls in to the den that once held his life and his love, and his family. The wolf sleeps where he once slept as the Alpha male. His mind wanders as he drifts off, he thinks of what might have been and what will be.....again.

The Alpha male stood, and stretched. He looked around the security of the den. The Pack had grown to a powerfull group. The male was pleased with the pack members that now slept within the safe haven. He stepped out to the morning light as it filtered thru the trees. As he exited the den he filled his nostrils with the crisp air. A tremor shock within him. DANGER, echoed in his mind. He has smelt this before. The wolf quickly took cover in the nearby brush. He waited to see if the enemy was coming twards the den. He could clearly hear the footsteps coming nearer and nearer. They were coming. They canot know the location of the den. He thought. I must lead them away from our future. Just then they appearded across the clearing. And in one powerfull swift moment the Alpha Male ran right at them. Not a sound was made as his powerfull legs shot him twards them. As soon as they spotted him, he changed directions and headed twards the deep woods. They must not find the den and the rest of the pack, echoed in his head. As he entered the deep forest darkness he could tell they were right behind him. The pack must survive was the only thought as the wolf jumped over the creek that borderd their territory. His enemys continued to follow onto the unsafe land.

The two retreat to the safety of the woods. Not because of fear of what stalks them but because they can see thier enemy safely from here. They have the upper hand. Moving in the shadows, in thier surroundings, knowing what path leads where and where is the best spot for an ambush. It also is quiet there and easy to make out the strange noises that dont belong. Also it is the place of rest and solitude. It is where they may clears thier thoughts without intrusion. It is also where the most important part of thier lives are (well for the pack anyway, not the loan wolf). The Den. It is where the young are ,,,,the future. The two wolves the male and female stop in one of thier known safe spots. They sniff each other and rest. They lie down. The females head lying upon the males back. The smell is raging in the body of the male. Urges are building deep within him. The female nudges him gently with her nose. They both know the time is now to fullfill thier future. The male stands almost as if not interested. But he slowly makes his way to the origin of the smell that is driving him insane right now. Nothing else exsists at this moment but the female wolf. In the distance an other wolf howls. But the two seem not to care at this moment. They enjoy each other for now as the sun dissapears thru the tree tops and night falls upon thier exhausted bodies.

The wolf wanders alone. Most think of him as the predator and avoid him or are leary. Others condem him for the actions of his ancestors and other wolves. Yes he desires the pack but the pack also brings competion and a certain trust. This wolf can not afford to be hurt again so he goes it alone, byhimself and drudges on. The few that do seek the frienship of this wolf, find a true friend and a loyal companion. He may not fully give himself to them because he knows that eventully he will be wandering alone again. This Wolf will protect at all cost those that are vulnrable to other preditors. And he will shed blood if needed. He lives by his own rules and and sometimes that leads him into deadly fields. But he has the cunningness and wisdom to always escape without to much of a scar. Oh yes his scars remind him of his past and make him leery of his future. But he keeps going. Is he a Hero or a misguided loaner? We shall see. Do not avoid the wolf,,,because he will avoid you if that is best. Take him in, feed him, warm him, and love him. He may not stay but he will remember you where ever he roams. Join his pack and become a friend of the Wolf, attack his pack and forever look over your shoulder. I am coming. Teeth gnawrled and hungry. Its your choice. and the Wolf dissapears in the dark secluded woods. He will return.

The wolf exits the tree line. He has spotted anouther wolf frolicking in the field. It doent see me. He sniffs the air. The aroma that enters his nostrils sends excitement thru his whole beastly body. Shes in heat. It takes every once of stamina to keep him from breaking into a run. He creeps along,,,staying in the taller grass,,,waiting for the right opretunity. Almost there....He stops. The smell he recognizes. Its one of his pack mates from ago. Just as the thought enters his mind. She turns and stares at him with a deep look of violence in her eyes. We will fight alarms in his head. Just as his teeth are about to lash foreward. A sound in the brush,,,its thier enemy. They run together back into the safety of the forest. FOR NOW
