I ripped this from my Fam proph3t! Check him out, you can find him listed in my Family. check'em out, rate him, comment his shit. Hook my boy up. If you listen to my joint "donforget" you'll hear me in the 2nd verse, state the following... "the reason herb's illegal is they earn more money on trees" - I realize that many lack the information 2 put 2 and 2 together or just lack the general knowledge to understand what this means. If you read these fun-filled facts about marijuana, you will completely understand ...so lets do this~ Fact: The first Bibles, maps, charts and even Betsy Ross's flag were made from hemp and The Declaration of Independence and Constitution were drafted on hemp paper Fact: For thousands of years, 90% of all ships' sails and all rope was made from hemp. The word 'canvas' is Dutch for cannabis Fact: Hemp was the most traded commodity in the world up until the 1830s Fact: Paints and varnishes were made from hemp seed oil until 1937. 58,000 tons of hemp seeds were used in America for paint products in 1935 Fact: In the 1930s, innovations in farm machinery would have caused an industrial revolution when applied to hemp. This single resource could have created millions of new jobs generating thousands of quality products. Fact: Hemp crops would save thousands of acres of U.S. forests as well as forests around the world Fact: In 1916, the U.S. Government predicted that by the 1940s all paper would come from hemp and that trees no longer would need to be cut down. Government studies report that 1 acre of hemp equals 4.1 acres of trees. Fact: Hemp was initially outlawed and made illegal as a direct result of large logging/paper manufacturing companies like The Hearst Company (William Randolph Hearst (Citizen Kane) and the Hearst Paper Manufacturing Division of Kimberly Clark) and their "contributions" made to politicians so as to monopolize the more profitable business in the industrial revolution - as a result, logging/paper manufacturing companies put a stranglehold on the less profitable and more productive hemp farms virtually forcing them out of business creating a hostile takeover of the entire paper manufacturing industry. Fact: A media blitz of 'yellow journalism' raged in the late 1920s and 1930s. Hearst's newspapers ran stories emphasizing the horrors of marijuana. The menace of marijuana made headlines. Readers were told that it was a violent narcotic with soul-destroying effects that was responsible for everything from car accidents to loose morality. Fact: Films like 'Reefer Madness' (1936), 'Marijuana: Assassin of Youth' (1935) and 'Marijuana: The Devil's Weed' (1936) were propaganda designed by these industrialists to create an enemy. Their purpose was to gain public support so that anti-marijuana laws could be passed. Fact: In the 1930s, people were very naive; even to the point of ignorance. The masses were like sheep waiting to be led by the few in power. They did not challenge authority and if the news was in print or on the radio, they believed it had to be true. (same as today, only now we have the idiot box and literally thousands of government "agencies" telling us what's good, bad, how to think/act and what/when/where to buy) Fact: On April 14, 1937, the Prohibitive Marijuana Tax Law was introduced and in September of 1937, hemp became illegal ~ which completely secured the future of these large logging/paper manufacturing companies- and if ya don't know ...now ya know! ~1
