Hi everyone!
Yes, I'm on vacation. Yes, I'm logging in while on vacation. I didn't expect to log in this much, but they have wireless here, and with Miranda sick, we spend a lot of time couch-potatoing it (which means time I can sit online while watching TV -- the glory of the laptop).
It's been a great vacation so far, although I'll admit -- it did start off somewhat rocky. There were storms over Chicago on Saturday so my plane got stuck on the Pittsburgh runway for over two hours!! I missed my connection and was put on a later flight. I was told I'd get bumped from first class (I'd cashed in miles to upgrade) and would maybe lose my miles, so I was really annoyed. Then I left my jacket somewhere in O'Hare... grr! But I did finally arrive, and walked past security to find the smiling face of my good buddy Charlie. Yeah!
Sunday we had a quiet day. Hung around, talked a lot. Did some shopping (attempts to replace jacket were in vain -- noone sells jackets this time of year!), cooked a great dinner together, watched a movie. Yesterday we went out and had a lovely afternoon exploring a local state park, including a hike from the top of a waterfall down to the bottom and behind it! Yes, I took photos. Yes, I will be posting them. Hehe. In fact, here's one of me and Charlie! (Charlie's one of my best friends; we've known each other for 25 years!)
Then today we visited the Corvallis rose garden, which was very impressive. The old garden section (my preference in roses anyway) was at its peak, and I could smell it from 20 yards away... amazing! Charlie took some photos of me in front of, and in a rose bower under Cl Cecille Brunner, and I hope a few will turn out decently.
By the way, our favorite photographer Mikey (MikeNinja) sent me some more photos from our March photo shoot, so I uploaded a few more. I hope you'll comment them and let me know if you enjoy them!
