Before there was several Silhouettes, there was one - and it existed strictly on paper. It was A.U. 0027, 5 years before the Silhouette Project was green lit for full research and development and 8 years before the Holy Crimson Uprising could begin - and Rinoa Harrison had just finished designing her newest project, the ATMF-5700 Beowulf III. Seeing her work being put to use by totally inept pilots who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn without a tactical aiming guide - and without her input by the organization using them - Harrison decided to design a Battle Suit that would be fitting for only the very best of pilots. This Battle Suit was the S81 Chevalier, and it was a design to truly be feared. In addition to being maneuverable beyond belief, it's raw speed matched it's agility. Sporting gatling-style machine cannons, head-mounted CIWS, and beam blades, it's firepower was topped by incredibly powerful Hyper Beam Rifles, capable of wiping out entire swarms of Battle Suits in a single shot.
However, two more factors put the S81 Chevalier above everything else: The S81's powerplant was a strange device of unknown origin that could unleash massive amounts of energy in an instant while also allowing S81 to integrate any weapon it picked up into it's own arsenal permanently if desired and to disconnect it's back mounted-Hyper Beam Rifles from their supporting recharge racks and use them like normal rifles, as well as allowed S81 to seamlessly combine them together into a Twin Hyper Beam Rifle to unleash immense blasts and then return them to their normal forms without harming their functions. S81 also came with a fully sentient AI construct that could learn from it's pilot in order to control S81 better on it's own, though the A.I.'s personality was brash, cocky, and very self-confident, making learning how to fly it's own body difficult for the AI. However, the A.I., combined with the Powerplant, made S81 too dangerous for a normal pilot to handle, and Rinoa Harrison saw the dangerous turn her work was taking and since S81 was impossible to construct in A.U. 0027, she shelved the S81 Project until technology could catch up and a pilot worthy of the unit could appear. S81 would serve as a secret base for the S70 Dragon that was eventually used to green light the entire Silhouette Project.
In A.U. 0129, an attack on Settlement January 12 by the Blue Typhoons causes a young civilian, Giancarlo Giovanni, to fall through a broken factory floor and into a fully constructed and almost fully operational S81 Chevalier Rinoa had built after technology had secretly caught up to the Suit. In flying the Suit, Giancarlo, or "Ian", as he was called by his friends, is revealed to be a natural choice for flying Chevalier, as he quickly masters the seemingly unstoppable Suit and later used it's integration ability to add a pair of normal beam rifles to it's arsenal in order to use it's powerful main armament for important situations only. Though S81's power proved truly terrible, as the A.I., which took the name Koen, used Chevalier's Twin Hyper Beam Rifle to destroy an entire space colony in a single shot. After that, S81 would grow ever stronger thanks to it's pilot as the war continued. 30 years later, during the Imperious Invasion, the two original S81s were still on the front lines and more than capable of holding their own against the advanced battle suits of Imperious' Grand Army.

In A.U. 0127 on January 3rd, a protest in the space colonies aimed at bettering the unbearable and oppressive treatment the colonies were receiving from the World Government is dealt with harshly by troops sent out by the Blue Typhoon Task Unit. The commanding officers of the Blue Typhoon task unit, Erwin and Samantha Rommel, are disgusted and appalled by their subordinates actions and attempt to find and purge the oppressive side of the task unit.
When their efforts are discovered by the World Government's corrupt leadership, they are told "Stop what your doing or your careers are history." In response to the message from the President of the World Government, Erwin and Samantha Rommel quit their jobs as the Blue Typhoon task unit's commanders then informed Gneisenau Electronics about the circumstances involving their leaving their command, not expecting 95% of the over 250,000 Gneisenau Red Aces employed by the Blue Typhoon task unit and the World Government to quit with them.
Gneisenau Electronics responds to the revealed oppression by using their contracts to recall the Silhouette Series Battle Suits and the vast fleets of warships the company had built for the World Government military and for Blue Typhoon. Forcing both organizations to use the in-house Naval Research & Development company to resupply them with suits and ships. The Lunging Liger Space Pirates begin secretly acquiring the recalled S61 Cohort units, and the Arielian Imperial Navy dispatches an Ariel's Heart class Great Battleship, the Vaalbara's Heart to the Etmerius System to watch over the events. The Vaalbara's Heart arrives and docks with Gneisenau Electronics' floating dock above the first Etmerius Moon.
A second Teaser for the S81: Chevalier storyline
With the full power of the S81 Chevalier now known and the Blue Typhoons forced to retreat to their last bastion of defense at the Gate of Heracles, the Resistance joined forces with the Arielian Empire and started Operation Seraph (This name was chosen because the resistance warships were aligned in the shape of a Seraph's wings above the command tower of the Vaalbara's Heart, and to honor the S80 Seraph used by Arielian Empress Chana Proudmore) to capture the renegade Blue Typhoons and the World Government President who had named himself Commander of the Blue Typhoons in a desperate bid to hold onto power. The Blue Typhoons attempted to hold the allies off at Jörmungandr and Fenris on May 16th. They failed and Fenris was destroyed by the super beam cannons mounted on the Vaalbara's Heart, destroying the Blue Typhoons' Headquarters and also a great deal of their forces.
A month later on June 18th the forces of the allies met the Blue Typhoons in a fleet battle around Jörmungandr and Solomon 1 & 2. The World Government President met Giancarlo and Koen in the giant E80II Castillo II and they have a final battle. During this fight Lenora returns in a Lunging Ligers flight suit and flying an S61 Cohort and assists Giancarlo in defeating his opponent. Giancarlo and Lenora succeed in destroying the giant Castillo II but Lenora's S61 is destroyed, though she safely ejects in her S61's built-in escape pod.
After the battle it's revealed that events had been set in motion that would send Jörmungandr along with Solomon 1 & 2 crashing to Etmerius. The Vaalbara's Heart destroys Solomon 1 & 2 but Jörmungandr is too heavily protected in a new armor system known as Mirror Armor, as well as Mirage Armor which renders the asteroid fortress invulnerable to outside attacks. Koen makes the decision to self-destruct his powerplant deep in the core of the fortress' power system, to destroy it from the inside. Forcing Giancarlo to eject in the Slip-Fighter that served as the S81's core unit and chest armor, Koen said his good byes and then destroyed himself, wiping Jörmungandr from existence in a massive aurora of light. Giancarlo also finds Lenora's escape pod and recovers her from inside it.

"Too tightly tied!" Too tightly tied!" a man in armor said in frustration at the two men who escorted him across the battlements of a battle ravaged city wall, the tied man was large and powerfully built, but the ropes binding him were the source of his misery as they were tightly bound across his chest and arms, rendering him unable to move his arms to try and save himself as they brought him before a group of men wearing robes as he said "Too tightly tied!!" one last time.
"A tiger should be really tightly tied" one of the men said to him as the man in armor looked at the group of men surrounding him, he recognized the one who had spoken to him as Cao Cao, then he saw Liu Bei and Guan Yu, Guan Yu's beard was unmistakable as it reached his waist and was beautifully taken care of. Looking at the two men who had tied him up to begin with he said with considerable heat in his voice "I've treated you all well. How could you betray me?" one of them turned to him and said "You lent a ready ear to your wife while turning a deaf ear to us. Did that mean you treated us well?"
The second looked at him and said "You used to hurt and whip people at will. Isn't it ashamed of you to say you treated us well." The tied man got a look of shame on his face as Cao Cao moved to look him in the eye. "Lu Bu, Now that you are captured, is there anything you have to say." Lu Bu simply walked up slowly to his captor and said "You have lost weight recently, Lord." Cao Cao thought as he looked around before saying "Your refusal to surrender caused me to lose weight."
A second bound man was brought up and Cao Cao simply said "What else have you got so say?" the second man didn't say anything but looked defeated and refused to meet his eyes. "If not, take him out to be executed!" he said before his guards took the second bound man away to be executed. Lu Bu leaned over and said to Liu Bei "Liu Bei, you stand there an honored guest while I lay bound at your feet. Why don't you say a word in my favor?" Liu Bei said nothing but nodded his head up and down in thought.
As Cao Cao walked by Lu Bu said "Lord," catching his attention. "Lord, your only trouble is myself. And I am at your side now. You take the lead, and I'll help you, With us, the world is at our feet." Cao Cao turned to Liu Bei and said "Liu Bei, what do you think of it?" Lie Bei stood there in thought before saying "You are willing to forget the events of Ding Yuan and Dong Zhuo?" Lu Bu looked at Liu Bei with anger slowly framing his face as he said "What?!" Liu Bei repeated his statement and Cao Cao looked knowingly at Liu Bei before calling for the two soldiers who had brought Lu Bu to him.
"Yes!" they said, and Cao Cao responded "Take him out to be hanged. Have his head taken off and put before the public." Lu Bu started to struggle against his bonds as he looked at Liu Bei with heat and anger in his voice "Liu Bei, you are the most unfaithful traitor." After being carried away a little bit Lu Bu turned back and said "Liu Bei, Have you forgotten that my arrow hit the mark?" A man walked up about that time as Lu Bu reached the walkway he was on and said "Arrow hit the mark? Lu Bu, You fool! Death is Death. Why are you so scared of it?" Lu Bu could do nothing but hang his head as he was taken away and hanged, the public viewing his decapitated head later.
Lu Bu (Fengxian), the mightiest warrior of the Three Kingdoms Era, was defeated, captured, and hanged by Cao Cao (Mengde) at Xiapi in 198 A.D. With the numerous events and wrongs he had committed in life, the chances of Lu Bu finding redemption are slim, and yet. His chances may not have ended with his death, for the soul and it's need for redemption, is a hard thing to put down...
