empty and cold,
completely alone
staring back at
cold stone gray..
soul drained dry,
there's no more tears -
just black desolation,
there's nothing left..
one bright flash,
an arrow of light
cuts throught the
thickened gloom -
and there You are,
now the struggle begins..
as ever so slowly You
tear them all down -
the cold stony fortress walls
guarding this shattered heart...
my flood of angry tears
seems to withstand You,
but still You persist,
fighting to break through..
and at last, weeping and broken,
i give it all up and fling myself
into Your open outstretched arms..
begin i then the
long painful journey
to mending my heart,
broken by Earth's cruel hands -
the fingers of circumstance..
but You are here and my heart is free..
and if the Son has set you free,
you are free indeed..
