Hola!
This summer i got the chance to see some awesome live acts. Ben Harper, Ziggy Marley, Robert Randolph. . .but the one i was MOST hyped about was the Deftones, Dir en grey, and Fall of Troy show.
It started off with Fall of Troy as the opening act. I wasnt too familiar with them, but the lead guitarist/singer did some decent shreading and sweaks. All there songs were pretty forgettable though and i think the crowed was was getting antsy waiting for the main acts.
after a long wait, Diru's crew came out and started to set up. A huge black and grey DIR EN GREY banner was revealed from the ceiling. Soon after that they started playing GDS and Shinya walked out and slipped behind his drum set. . . Damn he looked hella frail. After that both Toshiya and Die walked out, they didnt look quite as skinny as i remember them from all there photoshoots and videos and instead of Die's signature red hair it was brown.
Toshiya got the crowed hyped by pumping his fist and his guitar in the air. I could barely see Kaoru half the time, he was all tucked in the corner, and Kyo came out kinda casually.
Now its been a couple of weeks since the show so i dont remember the complete set list, but what i do remember they played was:

I remember a couple coming up to me saying "WHOA who are these dudes? there pretty awesome" and some people having WTF? looks on there faces when Kyo started mutilating himself. The high points of there set for myself was hearing THE FINAL live and being surprised by just how RAWKIN Disabled Complexes is live. . .and Kyo's funny two step dance.
After that Deftones went on and surprisingly played alot of classic shit from there first 3 albums. They had a huge light show too that just about melted my eyeballs . . .and porn on the giant screen behind them O__O Unfortunately i decided to leave before the encore, due to massive heat exhaustion :( t'was an awesome show though for all that went!
