He battles far from her,
In hopes that he will return
And let her know that his heart
Will forever be his,
If she would let it be that way.
He fights with a fury
Unmatched by any man,
But it does not compare
To the passion that is in his heart.
She may temper the flame
That is in his soul,
She cannot extinguish
The blazing inferno of passion
That fuels his every move,
His every though.
His beating heart calls out one name,
And it is the name of this princess
That he wishes to hold
That he wishes to cherish
That he wishes to honor.
Shall a mere knight have such a blessing?
For she is a gift from Heaven itself,
To him, one of Heaven's angels,
And how he has even caught her eye,
He has yet to determine,
For a time, he may never know,
But he knows what his heart feels.
For just one touch of her hand,
He finds his mind drifting to a place,
Where Heaven is on earth,
And that being in her arms.
Shall she welcome him when he returns?
The battle has been great,
As he wanders through this dark land,
Surrounded by others who would
Serve only themselves,
But he shall serve her,
The princess-- she shall be his queen,
If she would let this knight,
This one man that see beyond
What the world sees.
This man that see the gift that has been
Bestowed upon this world.
Does she know what he feels?
How can a mere knight ever be
Allowed to love this princess?
Will he be allowed to have her hand?
Only when he returns,
And if she will let him,
Will those be answered.
