The Other Side
Many many years ago or was it just the blink of an eye
plans were made for a trip that starts off with a baby’s cry
through dimensions from a portal descending in a slide
light to dark, dark to light she arrives from the other side
the learning starts with baby steps and things that are small
the learning grows and takes her higher as she become tall
but life is about living, loving, and learning so she must decide
what she’s going to do with this life now that she’s here from the other side
a mother to me and a mother to more
a mother to a total of one plus four
she tried to live life and do what she should
she tried to help others whenever she could
sometimes life would get to be too much on this magical ride
of living, loving, and learning on this trip from the other side
but no matter what life gave her everyday
good, bad, right, or wrong she always stood her ground and did it her way
then sometimes the things that we do the things that we sow
develop the cancers that devours us and cause us to go
the life that seem like it would last forever passed in the blink of an eye
this trip of living, loving, and learning is over and she must return to the other side
