The sheer diversity of life
is astounding, radiant, upsetting.
Its the little things, though,
like the broken girl with no roots,
collecting pennies in a nest
of warm trash, that tears at you
like suddenly appreciating
all that you have.
Your lucky to find that you can still feel,
when you realize,
her eyes just ran away with your heart
like a never ending ride
on the midnight express
