The Journey

I went to walk along the way
It was a bright warm sunny beautiful day
There were many people bustling about
in a hurry, angry, and many shout
Things were not pretty on that road
I felt as I were being prodded with a goad
Things got uglier along that way
I felt destruction emanated for me that day
Then up a head I saw off to the side a narrow gate
Standing there was a friendly face
He invited me in with a warm smile
Asked me to walk with him for a couple of miles
Hesitantly I turned to accept his offer
I was afraid that I get lose my and never proffer
It was peaceful and calm as we went our way
Each step felt guided as a new peace surrounded me that day
The road was straight and easy to walk as I followed Him
I noticed that is was quiet and there was no longer a din
So I looked back to see where we had been
To my surprise I saw only one set of tracks
My burdens felt lifted from off my back
Then I looked into that smiling face
I knew then I had found my Savior that day
What seemed like only a few small steps
Ended so quickly but felt completely at rest
He instructed me to stay on this road and all will be well
He warned that it may not always be this warm or this swell
The journey will not always be this easy
But I'll always the there to guide you even if you don't see me
He left there on that Narrow Road
Where things felt more wonderful and more like home.
