Good Morning and how are you? How many times have you just sat back (stood or laid will work too) and thought about the irony of it all sometimes is just mind boggling. Now boggling could have many meanings but for this we will use the term as outright shaking your head and saying what kind of idiot… Here is the reason for this. This story goes back a few years 8 to be precise. In the early months of 1999 the Golden State Fence Company were awarded a contract to build a fence keeping illegal aliens namely Mexican’s that crossed over from Mexico to California of their own free will. The company was given this contract for one thing proximity to the work site and it was a very sound company to do the job. They had the man power to do it and were low bidder for the job hence forth they won the contract. Officials monitoring the progress and the company’s books found an astonishing fact. Golden State Fence Company had on their payroll various amounts of illegal aliens (Mexicans) about one third of the work force for the company. Hmmm low bidder? Yeah when you can pay your employees .25 and hour yeah, I think you might just be the low bidder. So the company was fined and had to ship back over the border these illegal aliens. The remained on the job site and continued the fence project. Apparently so did most of the illegal aliens as well because next audit was done 4 years later and again 5 years later and some of those same illegal aliens were still employed. Hmmm building a fence to keep illegal aliens out perhaps they were stuck on this side of the fence and had no way back home to Mexico. I think not. Contractors of this sort working for our Government and charging outrageous fees which we all can joke about 200.00 for a toilet seat. 30.00 for a nut and bolt… may explain some tax dollars horror stories heard before by many I am sure. But the irony of this company building for our government a fence designed to keep out those who we all fear come in and get paid and not taxed. Do not get me going on not paying taxes by foreign workers in the US …sore subject and many of you may not know that a contractor (individual or company) that is hired to do a job in this country from another country does not pay taxes on their earnings. Now I am not sure if they are free from paying it when they get back to their country or not, regardless and if so does that make it right? What I am saying is if they get back home (again that is if they go back) and have to pay earnings taxes to their government its like the foreign government they came from receives a fee as well. Another weird issue that is plagued tax payers for years. Bonnie works in payroll at Bosch so I know anyone of foreign decent that claims foreign decent pays no earnings taxes…. Hmmm imagine that. So while they are building a fence between San Diego and Mexico perhaps they can also run a few fence post along Florida’s east coast and stop the Cuban rafts and boats…I am joking but…daily that is an issue…Wow hard to come up with a good send off when I now have you scratching your head over illegal aliens and taxes.. bad me.. Ok let’s do this. How much does it cost to change a light bulb? Good answer depends on who is changing it, how much the light bulb cost’s and where it was purchased. Disposal fee.. wow, think about that next time you have a burned out lamp…The Government might pay as high as…oh say 300.00 a socket…..have a great day.. A huge hug and three well placed pats Marty
