New Year "Resolutions"

I haven't blogged in 2 and a half years. As a matter of fact, this is only my 2nd blog entry here of Fubar. I used to blog far more frequently back when Yahoo had its Yahoo360 social network thing going. So what's new? The year. So I'm wishing whoever reads this a safe and happy New Year. Please don't drink and drive. Any New Year's resolutions? Hmmm, I usually don't do them. I belive that any positive changes in life have to happen because we want them to happen, not by forcing ourselves to them by doing "resolutions". This year will be no different for me in that regard; however, I do plan to watch a movie that a couple of female friends have been bugging me to watch for months (The Princess Bride). I actually own the dvd but I didn't get around to watching it (I had to watch Inception instead, sue me!). I shall attempt to complete this arduous task before the end of 2012. But first I will have to hook up my "new" dvd player, as my Playstation2 no longer works. Note to self: fix PS2. There, now I have TWO New Year's resolutions. I will try to blog more often in the future, but I make no promises. Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. Stay safe. P.E.A.C.E. --Adrian

Internet Problems

My first Fubar blog. And it's not an entirely happy one lol. I've been having internet problems most of the week. My internet speed has slowed down to a crawl's pace. I'm supposed to have DSL but for whatever reason, it's acting MUCH slower than even Dial-Up. This wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't for the fact that it's *so* slow that, half the time, pages don't even load!!

The tech support people at Verizon have got to be the most incompetent assholes EVER! I called them last Wednesday and told them about my situation. After I followed their advice and checked the connections here to see if it was something on my end, they finally decided that they would send a technician on Thursday and that he/she would be here at some point "from 1 to 5." I took half the day off from work so that I would be home when they came. Not only did they not bother to call me before coming but... they NEVER CAME! By the time 4:30PM rolled around, I had a feeling that they were not going to show up at all. So I called them and all they had to say is that they were "sorry" and understood my situation but they would have to reschedule for the next day. I told them that I couldn't lose another day of work, and they said they would send someone at 6PM.

So I changed my schedule around a lil' so that I could be here by 6PM... confident my problem would be solved that day. But instead of someone coming here around 6, some technician called at a *much* earlier time when I wasn't around... And since I wasn't here and missed the call, he could no longer come. And apparently neither he nor another technician couldn't be here at 6PM either -- which is when he was SUPPOSED TO *BE* HERE! So I called again, furious, and now all they say is they'll have to reschedule again and the earliest they can come will be on the 27th!!!

I don't know if these fuckers like to play games or what's going on, but it's a pretty good way to lose customers, in my opinion. Matter of fact, I've already called a *different* company and will have cable internet set up in a few days. Even if the Verizon people finally happen to get my problem fixed, I'm pretty much DONE with them! So if any of you are considering making Verizon your internet provider, I would recommend against it.

On the other hand, you'd be surprised how much more productive your day becomes when you have little or no internet! I'm actually getting a few things done around here lol. Plus, I've been spending my computer time rearranging and reorganizing files (including porn) and deleting stuff I no longer need/want (I had to spend extra time going through the porn carefully just to make sure I didn't delete something I want to keep :-P)

Hope you all enjoyed the 3 day weekend! But don't forget the reason we have that extra day off -- Memorial Day. So let's remember all the fallen men and women who served our country and fought bravely. And please remember that soldiers don't get to pick and choose their missions... So it's up to *us* to hold our elected officials accountable and make *sure* that any war we engage in is ABSOLUTELY necessary. Not to get all political in this blog but... what the Bush administration did is UNFORGIVABLE. There's nothing patriotic about sending our brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, cousins, friends, etc to a completely unnecessary war of choice that left us bankrupt in the process. When all is said and done it's someone else's life on the line. So the best way to honor the fallen, in my opinion, is to prevent others from losing their lives needlessly.

But I'll be around more as soon as I get this internet situation under control.

Hugs n Kisses. P.E.A.C.E.
