The immortal eyes see everything for us The immortal eyes show everything to us The immortal eyes bear everything with us And with the immortal eyes we learn from our mistakes. Or so we thought, Even today we still make those mistakes, Even with the aid of the Immortal Eyes. Dreams have been set out for us, Dreams have been destroyed by us, Great beings have set out for us fighting for us, Yet we throw everything back in their faces, Racism, Murder, Theft We commit all of these. MLK Jr. fought for Black Americans to be free, Black Americans have turned the other cheek, Black Americans are taking advantage of their newly earned freedom, Black Americans are using their new freedom against white society, The tables have been turned, It is now the whit society being discriminated against. Many soldiers have died fighting for this country, Many soldiers have died by the people in this country, Many soldiers still keep on fighting for this country, Yet, this country is still ungrateful and takes advantage of others, Many soldiers have fought for our freedoms, Yet, many of us surrender our freedoms to our own country. Till this very day, centuries of immortal eyes have been washed away, We might as well burn the immortal eyes, What use are they to us? (I used the immortal eyes as a metaphor to books and literature in general. I gave it the metaphor of immortal eyes because the immortal eyes never go away, once they’re there they will see everything and will stay there forever unless every single book is burnt. MLK Jr. has gone down in history in books. Many soldiers have died fighting for our country and are remembered mostly by literature. This all makes sense once you understand what the immortal eyes are.)
