What makes people hot?  The number one thing I can think of is the Sun, but I am not talking about that kind of hotness.  No my friend, I am talking of attractiveness, the hotness that gets you stuff.  Though, if you do get a fever of 104 you'll get things, but they aren't things you actually want. 

Over the years, the things that make people attractive have changed, though some things have remained crowd pleasers.  Some things have gone from one extreme to the other, but there is one root that remains; how well you can provide.

Back in the caveman days, the guy with the best spear got all the chicks.  Not that kind of spear you perv, the one one who brought home the meat.  Not that kind of meat, damn you, I'm trying to be educational here, get your mind out of the gutter, or at least while it is there, look for my car keys. He was the top provider, and he had his pick of the women.  Of course the girl who got all the guys attention was the one with the biggest boobs.

Then when "civilization" began, and currency came into play, it was no longer what you could do, but what you could have done for you.  If you had the cash, you had the ass.  Now people knew who had the cash, but there was a look to these people that also indicated their status.  Your typical wealthy European person was very pale, they didn't work the fields like a serf, and usually on the heftier side, because their plates were always full.  Around this time, a large pale woman was an attractive prize indeed, especially if she had large boobs.  This meant that her father had money, and he'd pay you well to take her off his hands. That big fat guy? Well he must have some good cooking and money, so the ladies would "moisten their undergarments" (if I read the historical documents correctly this is the phrase they used) when he would strut into town. 

Now about the time cars and factories came into play, people started having a lot more leisure time.  Now if you had a tan, and you were thin, its because you had so much money, that you had the time to get outside and exercise.  Funny how a few technological marvels totally changed the way we look at attractiveness.  Today we have spray on tan, back then they had powder to make you look pale.  They had bodices to make your boobs look bigger, we have bags of water they'll shove in with a knife.

You may have noticed a theme here about what makes a woman attractive, and I would like to make one comment about it.  On an instinctive level, us men recognize that these fleshy orbs are what going to be used to feed our children, so of course we are so concerned about our future kids, we want to make sure they are well fed.  Now with women its always been about the mans ability to provide, but thanks to recent trends in Women's Liberation, women don't have a need to have kids if they don't want to.  Which basically means us guys are out there thinking about the kids, while you greedy women are just thinking about our paycheck. 

I tell you, us guys get a bum rap.
