What are you waiting for?

I have been searching the internet for things that I think our blog readers would be interested in reading about. I haven't come up with a whole lot. Then it dawned on me…maybe we should share a bit about ourselves. Tell you our stories. Let you, as our readers and friends, get to know us! So here goes… We are a newly formed paranormal investigative team based out of Oakland County, Michigan. We conduct searches for true hard evidence of paranormal activity and the spiritual world. Our goal is to perform investigations to determine the probability of life after death. We also help spirits with any unresolved issues they may have and encourage them to cross over to where there suppose to be. We are meant to help people with our compassion and understanding, along with providing help to the spiritual world when possible. Our investigations are held anywhere from public cemeteries to private residential areas. When we first started our investigations in October of 2005, we had no idea what the future had in store for us! It only took one investigation, our first, to capture enough paranormal phenomena, for it to become an addiction. Even still today, the adrenaline and excitement we get from each new hunt, is as intense as it was in the first. Being that we are a newly formed group, it is a blessing that we have gotten so far. Starting with only two members (ourselves) and only two pieces of equipment, we today have ten members (with more people interested in joining daily) and a full line of equipment to efficiently conduct a paranormal investigation. We have also received a tremendous amount of knowledge that has come from researching the evidence of our investigations. With everything we've read, heard about, researched or captured ourselves, it's a shame for anyone not to believe. There are so many occurrences and situations through out history and today, providing evidence that should change any forms of disbelief. We give everyone the right to have their own belief system, all we are asking is for a slightly open mind. Everything we capture during investigations, we try to disprove before anything else. How do you explain a voice on a recorder from someone who isn't even there? Receiving captures on film during temperature drops and unexplained EMF readings? What about a form of a little girl, floating near a tree, that you can see fading away in photos that were taken repeatedly? We know what is out there! We will eventually get enough hard evidence to prove that everyone has a spirit that lives on after living in the physical body. Please just give an honest attempt before you make any conclusions regarding what you believe. We thrive off of the curiosity of our new members! The feelings that they receive from experiencing a paranormal encounter first-hand, is something that cannot be replaced. We are overjoyed that we can contribute to a memory that may never be forgotten. WE ARE THE HIGHLAND GHOST HUNTERS! My name is Lisa and I am one of the co-founders of the Highland Ghost Hunters, along with my friend Jenny. I am 28 years old. I have one son, Nathan who is 8 years old and a fiancée, Jason. I work as a receptionist in a pediatric Doctors office in Milford. For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in the paranormal. I don't know exactly how it started, I just know it has always been a part of me. I recall a memory from when I was 7 years old. My Great Grandmother and my Aunt died ten days apart from one another. My Great Grandma died on December 15th, 1985 and my Aunt died on Christmas morning of 1985. This was my Grandmothers Mother and Sister. I remember one evening, waking up around 2am to my grandmother sitting at the kitchen table. She had three cups of coffee sitting there and she was having a conversation with my grandma and my aunt. At the time, I thought it was strange. I thought, as much as my seven year old mind could, that maybe my grandmother was loosing it. I stood in the hallway and watched the conversation for several minutes before I walked out into the kitchen. My grandmother got a bit angry at me stating that now I made them leave. It wasn't until years later that I really understood. My grandmother never got a chance to say goodbye to her mother or sister, and that night in the kitchen she was given that opportunity. To this day, when I ask my grandmother about that day, she is grateful. It gave her a sense of peace to be able to say goodbye. If I only knew some of the things I know now, I wouldn't have interrupted! About 3 years ago I was driving in the car with my fiancée. It was dusk, not completely dark but still not light. We were driving down a dirt road close to our home. We were listening to the radio and talking. The speed limit on the road was 25 and I was driving about 40 miles per hour. All of a sudden out of no where there was a white "thing" (the best way I can describe it) that appeared in the road, right in front of my car. I ran it over. I instantly began to freak out. I had no idea what it was that I had just run over. So many things were going through my mind. Did I just run over a person? A child? An animal? I really had no idea. I stopped the car and turned around. We went back to the place that it happened, got out of the car and began to look around. There was nothing. I was freaking out so much, my fiancée actually laid on the ground and looked under the car to be sure nothing was stuck underneath it. There was nothing there. We were dumb founded. The story does not stop here though. A couple of months after this, I was talking with my dad. I told him about what had happened to us. He looked at me with disbelief in his eyes. He told us a story. He said about 10 years ago, he was driving on that same part of the road. The same thing happened to him. He described it as something white jumping in front of his car. He swerved to miss it and ended up crashing in the ditch and totaling his car. After he got out of the car he looked all over, and couldn't find anything that looked like what he had swerved to miss. He also said he is absolutely 100% positive that it was not an animal. He said he has never seen anything like it, not before then or since then. I thought it was strange that we had seen what we think was the same thing. These are just a few of my own personal experiences. I could go on and on, as I have had many. Since the beginning of "The Highland Ghost hunters" I just cannot seem to get enough. The excitement and curiosity of each investigation is extremely captivating. I know there are "things" out there and one day my hope is to prove the existence of life after death. To show both believers and non-believers alike, exactly what is out there. As hard as I try I just cannot seem to get the curiosity out of my system. Now Jenny will tell you a bit about herself. My name is Jennifer (Jenny) and I have been co-founder of HGH, along with Lisa, since forming the group in October 2005. Our team goal is to gather enough evidence to prove that there is a form of life after death (or at least make the possibility available for those skeptics). I have a very supportive husband, Shaun (Journeyman Electrician), and two beautiful girls, Rylee age four (with whom was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes in 2004) and Kaylee age two (not exactly the shy one). Luckily I am able to be a full time mother/homemaker which allows me to be with my family as a first priority. But don't be fooled, this in it's own is a job and a half. I first encountered paranormal activity at the age of 10 after the passing of my grandmother. Obviously not understanding the subject, I was not aware of how wonderful having this experience was. It started as an argument between my mother and father regarding the remains of my grandmother being inside the home. Eventually my father took the remains and placed them in a storage area at the far end of our backyard. Days later I noticed the remains back inside the home. Not thinking much of it at the time, I didn't question it. Afterwards, on a few occasions, my mother would say that "Grandma is here to visit again", as she moved her hand just over the seat of a chair in the living room. Following her movements, I could feel that the coldness on my hand was surprising and a bit shocking. Almost as if I could feel a form of tingling energy within the area. The scent in the air surrounding the chair smelled of a mixture of alcohol (yes, she was an alcoholic) and Lysol, which wasn't in any other area of the home. It wasn't until beginning paranormal research and investigations that she told me of what happened regarding the remains in and out of the home. She went on to tell me that it wasn't until she received a certain phone call that made her feelings change of having the remains inside the home. This phone call was from my deceased grandmother who spoke a message to my mother, "Everything is going to be okay". Knowing what I now know, feeling the "cold spots", the "energy" , smelling the "scents", creates a feeling of honor to have had such an experience as a little girl. The only way to describe why I have such an interest, is due to the feeling of it being a "calling" more than anything else. I am lucky to have such a wonderful group of folks as members, teammates as well as friends, whose interest and enthusiasm creates nothing but positive energy within the group. Without one another and the strive behind each and every one of us, we wouldn't be where we are today. Now Keith will tell you a bit about himself. My name is Keith. I am 39 years old and I live in Holly, Michigan. I have a wonderful 16 year old son who lives with me. I am a truck driver by trade. I have been interested in the paranormal for as long as I can remember. My main fascination lies with the EVP's. Many anomalies that are recorded on video or in photographs can be explained logically or scientifically, but when a strange voice appears on an audio recording, and you eliminate the voices of those who were present, it is very exciting to me. Where did the voice come from? Why did it call me by name? Was it a spirit? Residual energy left behind? Parallel universe? These are questions I would like to find the answer to. Since I have joined this group, I have had a few interesting experiences, and I am sure there will be many more to come. I hope to meet and interact with others who share in my interest and wonder of the paranormal. Now Chris, a man of many words. My name is Chris. I'm from Walled Lake. I am 19 years old. I'm interested in Martial Arts, Horror Movies and the paranormal. I have been interested in the paranormal since I was 4 years old, when I saw a documentary on ghost hunting. Since then I have been hooked. Now Curt would like to share a bit. My Name is Curt and I am 34 Years old. I suppose my life-long obsession to learn more about the after-life is the main reason I investigate the paranormal. I haven't had any incredibly amazing experiences to report just yet, as most ghosts seem to be quite shy. I am hoping that this will change eventually. My main goal is to be scared out of my wits as when I was a child, so that perhaps I will feel more alive than I normally do. So to all of the dead, aimless spirits out there, I bring this challenge...scare me. Show me your face. Speak my name. And one day I just might join you. Curt Now it is Kenny's turn to say a few words. Hi, my name is Kenny. I am 25 year's old. I live in White Lake . I am a cool, very open minded person. I believe everything and anything is possible if you believe in it and put your mind to it. At one time when I was about ten or eleven, I went to see my mom at work. She worked at the CVC mental hospital. It was an old place in Pontiac, Michigan. It was a big place and to me as a kid, it kind of scared me a little. I went there often with my dad to pick my mom up from work. I only went in there like four times, but one of the last times I went in the place, my mom showed me the whole building inside. She had key's to the entire building because she did house keeping. She said let me show you the old part of the building because I am the only one that has key's to that part. So I said ok and we walked down the hallway and it started to go down in to the ground. When we got to the end of the hall we went to the right, it was dark down there. We walked down a tunnel into the ground. On the right of us there was a steel door, it was painted red. My mom opened the door, we went in and closed the door behind us. Then we went down the tunnel to a elevator and went up two floors. When the door opened, we went into an old, old building. It looked like no one had been there in at least ten years or longer. It was kind of creepy, but my mom was with me so I was ok. We headed down the big main hall. In the middle there was two big doors made of brass and wood. Me and my mom went through them and left them open. We went to the end of the hallway and looked in some room's. Then we left and went back down the hallway. My mom said to me, just leave the big doors open. She said that she had to clean in there the next day. So i said ok. As we headed back down the hallway to the elevator, the big doors slammed shut. It sacred me and my mom so we ran down the hall to the elevator. We got in it and we where hauling ass back down the tunnels to the main part of the hospital. Now that I am older and I think back on the day, I know it was something paranormal. Me and my mom still talk about it all the time. This is what Jason say's. Hi I'm Jason from Commerce Township, Michigan. I'm 34 years old. I've been to a lot of interesting places where there was likely to be some paranormal activity (one of them was the well known "Northville Tunnels" in Northville, Michigan which is the name it's most well known by, and one of the others would be Clinton Valley Center that used to be in Pontiac, Michigan (which was most well known as C.V.C.). I've also been on a couple investigations but I've never experienced anything paranormal other than a bit of cold and some orbs in a digital photo. I'm a bit of a skeptic but hoping to see or experience something undeniable in the future. I've always been very interested in anything otherworldly. Whether it be for recreation (television, movies) or in everyday life situations. I guess we'll see what happens. This is what Sam and Dallas had to add. Hello Everyone: Our names are Sam and Dallas. I am 33 and Dallas is 28 we hail from Inkster, MI. What really got me into the paranormal was always hearing my mom and Aunt talking about how they talk to my grandma and my uncle after the both have past away. Then having a few of my own experiences. For instance at Dallas's mom's house. Dallas has always been interested in the paranormal since she was a little girl. probably since the passing of her grandma. She's told me that she's seen her grandma at every place we have lived in, her grandma has visited her. I just want to thank Lisa and Jenny for allowing us to be part of the Highland Ghost Hunters. Thank U Ladies Together we are all known as the Highland Ghost Hunters.
