To those of you who don't watch wrestling, just ignore this. I just watched the latest ECW, and have come to a painful realization. Over the past few months, I have hoped, and waited for this new incarnation to go back to the traditions of old, and be the outlet that many loved. Today has been the first true nail in the coffin of ECW. CM Punk, that pussy "Straight-edge" Wrestler (The straight-edge movement in punk is B.S. I got this from a second hand source who inteviewed the creator of the movement over dinner, where the person had a big old steak, with a couple of shots, and a couple of cigarettes... but that's anothe rant), went to the "New Breed". A person of his "talent" going to the place where all the new hires are, is basically a death sentence for those wrestlers who were of the old school; Working in the Bingo Halls and such. Those wrestlers of the old E.C.W. will eventually be let out of their contracts, and left to go on to whatever else awaits them. The Writers are writing the ECW out of ECW. I never got the joy of being able to see an ECW event live, when it really was ECW, and it is one of my main regrets. I know now that I never will either. I do believe that this new crap, which is nothing close to the original ECW, is the death knell of a lifestyle. No longer will fans truely get involved with it like they did before. They have turned it into the one thing that all ECW fans hate, a mockery. A shell of it's former self. This is pathetic. Vince should have just let it die in peace, rather than reanimate in it's current fom. At the very least, it should not be called E.C.W. (Exteme Championship Wrestling) I wouldn't mind if they went back to the original name of Eastern Championship Wrestling. Just don't Bring the Name ECW down with the filth you are showing. ANd if by some grace of all the gods I find holy happens to get this to that Upstart C.M.Punk, I'd like a special message to go out to him. I know that you are scripted in almost everything you do, and that WWE as a whole has planned this out for months (barring any unforeseens, such as R.V.D.'s arrest and suspension, and reason for him losing the Championship so early on). Does it give you happy, joy feelings to know that you are part of the forces woking to destroy somethign that people love and fondly remember? Does the nice salary (being a superstar is very rewarding) make it easier to not think of how you ae part of the ruination of a once great institution? The Punk way of life was to rebel against the status quo. By going with the new breed, ae the writers making your character out to be a hippocrit?
