The Devil's Prey
They keep telling me that this is the way,
but yet little do they know we are only the devil's prey.
When you pray only when in times of need,
the devil lays claim to your spiritual deed.
You must honor thy father with heart felt truthfulness and sincerity.
But for most of us my friends it is only a rarity.
I don’t believe in a church or a building man made.
But my heart is the start on a life to be paid.
My feelings, my thinking are controlled by my heart.
That the devil, an Angel is determined to rip apart.
Listen close and believe when I say,
He is an Angel who has only lost his way.
Who is the first one to teach us deception and lies.
With Adam and Eve, Gods first gift of our lives.
A powerful being you can not even see.
Tries to control all of our wants and our needs.
The church is where you should be, you believe.
But the church is just another place to deceive.
The Lord All Mighty, another being unseen.
Sent us a second Angel to free you and me.
Jesus Christ is his name and speaking truth was his game.
Scared powerful men in to feeling the pain of their shame.
They could not let this man live, he has nothing but powerful words to give.
Send in a peasant, one down on his luck.
Desperate and determined to make a quick buck.
Let him deceive everyone who believes this man they call king before you and me.
We are more powerful than he could ever be.
Being the true kings of everything you see.
With Jesus he stayed, the one that betrayed.
He did not foresee becoming the devil's prey.
Being right there he was lost in his ways.
Not even having a whole lot to say.
Learned so much being in his trust.
But still chose to cause such a fuss.
Yes, a choice was made, the freedom of will part.
Which was foretold to us from creations start.
But through God himself, Jesus already knew,
what this mere mortal man was about to do.
Yet he still freed us from our sins and on his way out,
he gave Gods word and he left us no doubt.
He forgave and forgot with all of his heart.
While transforming back into his heavenly start.
All this is true and complete as you can see.
But what about the devil that is still here with you and me?
A powerful being remaining unseen,
but faith and loyalty is our only means.
My brothers and sisters, I must tell all of you,
and I am speaking to the one who is reading this too.
Be very careful if and when you stray.
For we are still in the mist of being the devil's prey.
