Got up very early took Gedy to Friendly house she is going to take care of the baby. Then took Madam, Hap, and Friendly to shoe factory, to try to get a job but they didn’t have any luck. Back home again then I went job seeking. No luck for me they told me to come back Mon. to the upholster factory that is all I can think of.
Up about 8 a.m. breakfast at 10, that is early isn’t it. then a flat, to town to get something for dinner then Gedy, Mutt, Hap and my self went to Littles-Town Penn. I went to see about a job but don’t think I will get it. No I don’t, I am to go back tomorrow. Didn’t see anything but snow covered hills, There are plenty hills here and it came as snow last night so that made them snow covered. Only 15 mil. Up there. Had a big dinner and as usual I ate too much. I guess I am funny that way. Still no letter any way it is pretty I wish up here now. Everything has a coupla inches of snow over it, it makes things mighty pretty. Think I will play a game or two of sol as I am kinda blue you know. The wind is howling pretty heavy it makes one wish they were in good Old sunny Texas.
Nothing going on, it started out to be a pretty day, but turned off too Kold. After Mutt came in he and I went to the Post Office, then went to see a coupla guys he sold them each a suit then home again. Hap went to see his girl brought her out to the house and didn’t get out. They sat in the car for an hour or so, until everyone went to bed then they came in. Gedy and her mother rather sore about it. I didn’t like it my self too well, I don’t think that a very nice way to do. I played sol all eve he beat me 6 straight games, then I beat him one. Well Honey Girl this is 1935, we have got about 3 inches of snow on the ground and it is still snowing. I am going to close up and home home, so until later sweet dreams. Up pretty early, this is worse thing doing Oh! Well, nothing.
Took Hap to work came home. No letter yet from Bill or Cill either I wish they wouldn’t do that way. Damn I am blue. Mutt got some new prices on his O’coats and suits. I helped change them, took us until noon. After dinner went to town sat around the Armory for a couple hours. Mutt was trying to make some sales, I don’t think he had any luck. I heard, “The Old Pine Tree” over the radio, back home, took Gedy and Mutt to town, home again. Now Happ his mother and all of them have gone 8 p.m. They got back about 11. I have been reading but I don’t think much of what I read, it was “The secret of the ages” to bed at last:
Up pretty early took Hap and Mutt to work as usual. Brought the car home no letter, was very Disappointed. Caught a truck and went to Tanney Town, There is a big rock crushing there, but the boss has nephews enough to run it. I met one of them very nice kind of chap we had a quite a conversation about every thing and nothing. Back home, ate dinner, after that went to work on car washed all of the glasses, both headlights and my spot light. Also cleaned the radiator boy it sure looks better. Mutt came home from work we all went to Medford, for the weeks supply of groceries. Then I went to see the doc again. He said I needn’t come back any more, but he said leave that damn splint on until Mon or Tue. Then to a dance. I didn’t like it the orchestra wasn’t worth a d---. They couldn’t play anything. Home at last 12:05 not late but it is every night here.
Took Hap, and Mutt to work. Than went after some coal, and mailed a letter to Dad. I received one yesterday from him, was very glad to get it. Then went to the Disposal plant, met some fellow who work there Didn’t learn any thing of interest.
Hap, and Mutt at work I layed around all day. That is a very monotonous job and I don’t like it.
Xmas day very quiet, no snow or rain the sun is shining but it is pretty kool. Mutt,Hap and me went for a stroll. We found Hobo’s blue Heaven it is an old lime kiln, “that is where they make lime.” Also went by the disposal plant they are building here. Then home dinner at 5:00P.M. after that we went for a drive, and I was highly insulted, some girls had the nerve to say that I couldn’t drive a car, and they refused to ride with me. Well I will remember them in my prayers.
Xmas eve nothing going on, I fooled around all day. Santa came as usual and was very nice. He left me a combination cigarette case and lighter, a pair of socks, some hankies, that is about all.
