The stars streaked across the deep blue night
Out into the world without the slightest bit of fright
To the north and south, not a thing would stir
My thoughts echoed, and in my head they blurred
The rocks were scattered across the river before me
With each step I took, it became harder to see
The moonlight only reached so far
The dark paths ahead seemed so hard
Through the trees I now walk
And to the smiling moon I talk
Though no reply is received
Every thought is believed
Starlight faded to dawn in my eyes
A tear came to my eye as I watched the twilight die
The reality of my life soon faded into dreams
And to this day, I still wonder what it all means
My thoughts are scattered like the clouds above
No light breaks through
It veils all love
My expression is as hard as the trees I pass by
The limbs pat me on the shoulder
And my spirit begins to fly
Cue the sunrise on another dark day
It struggles to rise
But I still make my way
So I turn the page on the book of me
I lock the door, and turn a different key
What will open now, I cannot see
Just another chapter in the book of me
My connection with the sky forever strengthens
It's bond is never broken
It's vision never corrupted
Their grip on my life will always tighten
It's touch is so concealing
It's brightness is so revealing
This chapter of my life is yet to be finished
There are so many locked doors
And many restraining chores
So I turn the page on the book of me
I lock the door, and turn a different key
What will open now, I cannot see
Just another page in the book of me.
