My heart hurts til I can’t feel.
It’s not my heart I hurt for.
It’s yours I wish to spare.
I want to hold you close.
So nothing bad can hurt you.
But it already has.
It keeps moving through you day after day.
I can not push it,
I cant hold it back.
Only you can do that.
Your beautiful face makes my heart hurt.
The bad will never know that kind of hurt.
Your voice keeps me thinking of the future.
But the bad will keep you in the past.
I wish I could wipe your slate clean.
The new will keep you safe.
The new will brush the dirt off your shoulders,
and help you stand up straight.
The new is so beautiful and pure,
that you wont know the bad face to face.
This one thing I want for you,
is the one thing you need.
This one thing,
Is for you to be freed.
To be freed.
The only thing you need.
Is to be free.
