You're Welcome Here
I left L.A. on a smoggy day,
had my bedroll tied behind.
Where would I go? I did not know,
or what adventure I would find?
As I thundered east on the iron beast,
my mind began to clear.
From the cluttered life of the city strife,
and the hate, the noise, and the fear.
Two hours ride the and road got wide,
and the mountain did appear.
And down the line I saw a sign,
it said, “Your Welcome Here"Â.
I took the ramp like a scooter tramp,
whose days were numbered few.
The wind was hot and I cared not,
it was highway 62.
The top of the hill a tank to fill,
and hot coffee with a smile.
The happy face of a laid back place,
think I'll just stay a while.
It's the people that make the desert,
like being a team.
It's the people of the desert,
a working living dream.
The people of this desert,
are wise enough to see.
That we all must work together,
To be STRONG
To be BRAVE
To be FREE!
