Good Morning. I chose to forgo “The Top Ten Little Black Dresses” article on msn today. Oh I looked let’s not think I have totally lost it. But felt too much of a good thing can make you sterol, just kidding. I did choose however to go with this little gem. It’s an article that most women will find icky to say the least. It’s an article on critters. Well rodents more so I guess. Which leads me to believe once again researchers are not really doing all their research for our benefit. Case in point: If researchers know they have found something that will help the human race out but do not elect to publish it then why on earth are they researching it in the first place. Here is the article. A research team led by Richard Hanson of Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland) has produced a colony of "supermice" whose physical abilities are the rodent equivalent of those of gifted humans. By modifying a single metabolism gene, researchers enhanced the mouse's ability to use body fat for energy, creating a mouse that can run five hours without stopping, live longer, and have three times as much sex as ordinary mice. According to Hanson, humans have exactly the same modifiable gene, “but this is not something that you'd do to a human. It's completely wrong." [The Independent (London), 11-5-07] Oh but making a better rodent is… I just shutter to think that there probably have been cures for sickness and illness’s found through research that we never learn of because like the auto makers, appliance makers, clothing makers, light bulb makers (this I truly know about because the Edison lamp, original one still burns today) the list goes on and on. Due to the fact, manufacturers choose to make their products only last for so long. Why, the almighty dollar, euro you name it. It’s all about supply and demand. If the demand goes down surplus stockage would take place and no where to move the stock because no need if the products last and last and last. I seen a video presentation on greenhouse effect and loss of natural resources do to big business and how they (big business) keep holding us hostage and raping the land of natural resources and no I have not turned into a tree hugger but know the whole picture is not always broadcast. If we seen the whole picture we would not stand for any of it. No, no this is not going to be a doom and gloom letter, lord knows I try to not always travel that road. So I will get back on the main issue. If researchers find cures, find alternatives to using up our natural resources and find a better way to live… why don’t we hear about it? How about that car that could run on sea water… yeah that little gem went off to la la land. I like to think that sooner or later, the people… the people we get a say in what is right and what is not. Yes I know we get a vote. We can vote who we want in office… (I want the bra and pantie mayor to personally come to my state and apologize for her great showing.. I mean lack of respect for her town residents and I know it’s a tough job but I will let her show me her bad ways.. I mean I will try to get her refocused on values… whew… and this was not going to be about little black garments… but the real story here is. If the cures, the money saving items are out there… why do we have a catrillion dollar deficit? Big Business… the rich get richer, the pore stay pore and the middle class… oh yeah, what in the hell in I talking about? Middle class, isn’t that a term of the 50 / 60 / 70 eras? Now it’s just rich and pore. Funny thing is there was a series or mini series years ago called rich man pore man…little did I know that would be a saga of life in the coming years...
