So,there was a story that just broke on the news. if you live anywhere in northwestern or maybe even any northern part of mississippi then you probably know the story im talking about. a school in Itwamba,Ms a few days ago known as Itwamba Agricultural Highschool denied a Senior her right to go to prom with her girlfriend stating that it was against the code of conduct. now,granted i've always known that this country was kind of intolerant but i had no idea it was that bad until i heard this story on the news. what kind of world do we live in where a girl can't simply take her girlfriend to prom and they lay down such a rule in their code of conduct such as this? if that is the case then why are there not rules in the code of conduct about taking your cousin or uncle or brother or sister to prom? & no one can say its because its less likely they have relations because i've heard quite a bit about cousins & even brothers and sisters having relations. but they dont stop them. they even went so far as to totally take away their prom all together & some of the students stated that they placed blame on the girl and were angry with her because prom was taken. it was not her fault they should respect her like they would respect any straight couple or student and let her through. she and her gf have rights just like everyone else does. & it makes me sick to see this kind of discremination. so, i wanna know do you think that they had a right to take prom & deny this girl her right to prom simply due to wanting to bring her gf or do you think this is totally wrong & should be over turned? all comments & opinions welcome. =]
