We're Steel Voltz!we're a "hair" band from South Louisianawe may not have the hair, but we sure as hell have the spirit!"HISTORY OF STEEL VOLTZ"Steel Voltz HAS quite some history behind it! The senior members ( Chris D. Deville / Josh Durel and on and off member Cody Chuavin ) have had the project running for about five years now. Originaly forming as "Knights of Kasixx" as more of a main stay metal band, Chris D. Deville ( Drummer ) and ex-Steel Voltz member and guitarist Andre Robert Broussard ( Lead Guitarist ) recruited Josh Durel on rythm guitar and Jason Theriot on vocals. This formation on lasted briefly and only gathered a small following with freinds. After a few months of practice and no progression Knights of Kasixx disbanded and Jason Theriot was no longer apart of the band and shortly after Josh Durel had also left do to personal reasons. Later within the same year "Knights of Kasixx" renamed themselves "Deep Six". This line up consisted of Chris D. Deville on drums , Andre Robert Broussard on Lead Guitar and new member Cody Chauvin on Bass. The group had rehearsed periodicy and preformed a few shows at a weekly open jam cafe and often at parties for friends and family gathering's. It was at this time that the band had produced multiple singles : "Hardlife" , "Heartbreak Road" and a rather popular song amongst freinds and fan's "GOIN' BROKE". After rigorous recordings on tape recorder's and endless hours of practice the band had somehow drifted apart. Cody had dropped the bass while Chris D. Deville and Andre Robert Broussard had joined up with a few freinds ( Chris Jue : Vocal's and rythm Guitar / Jacob Morgan : Lead Guitar / "Hobo" Joe : Keyboard ) and formed "Sixx Axe's". The group was a combination of METALLICA and early DEF LEPPARD/ LED ZEPPLIN enthusiasts. This band had finaly reached a level of better recording thank to Chris Jue's home recording studio. After almost half a year of practicing the band produced a powerful single amongst friends "Inside". Though over time aftert missing a debut at "Battle of the Bands" in the summer of 06' and some inner band trouble the group has silently disbanded. Quickly reforming with Chris Jue still on Vocal's and Rythm Guitar, Chris D. Deville still on Drum's and Andre Roebrt Broussard still on Lead Guitar, they had gathered new commer's Derick Stanford on Bass and Jacob Moore on Rythm guitar and gained back the name "Steel Voltz". After brief practice the band has preformed one show at the "Land Mine" bar. The bar had closed down afterwards and thus marked the slow decay of "Steel Voltz". For awhile the band was quite while Andre Robert Broussard and Chris D. Deville continued to jam on and off. Slowly Josh Durel was re-hired as the rythm Guitarist and from there the band generated current the rock anthem "Take The Night". Time went on and Chris D. Deville had dropped his sticks for the Microphone , becoming the frontman for the band. Due to a passion for it and a constant lack of a frontman , Deville took a quick liking to the position and is still as such. Andre Robert Broussard had at long last parted ways with the group joining in an guitar duo group with a close friend and took "GOIN' BROKE" with him. This left Chris D. Deville on vocal's and Josh Durel now on Guitar both lead and rythm. The two set to work recording constantly. For the meanwhile Chris D. Deville had recorded both vocal's and on the drums while Josh Durel took care of Guitar and Bass. Doing this they two had produced " STEEL VOLTZ" , " BETTER PLACE" , "TAKE THE NIGHT". This went on until the hammer was dropped and Chris D. Deville no longer wanted to drum. They recruited a few off and on drummer's who were incapable of doing the job. Finaly the auditioned Ben Jammn' a graduate of Lafayette High and a former member of the high school Drum line. On the spot he was "in" and is now the official drummer of "STEEL VOLTZ". This line up was consistant of Chris D. Deville, Josh Durel and Ben Jammn'. The trio had countless hour's of practice and produced "HEAD TO THE BAR." The only missing elemant was a bassist. Briefly they had hired Christian on Bass but do to a few conflicts of interest he had left the group. Immediatly they called up ex-bassist COOL CODY and since then the line up has been solid. "STEEL VOLTZ" has formed a noticable following of friends both local and even out of the state and country. Now the band aims to preform live for an audiance that is more than anxious to rock out...
