At the end of the meeting this morning, assistant manager Norman piped up - "oh yeah, Ian's been nominated for a Shining Star." Everyone looked at me and applause broke out.
I think it entails that my name is written on a star-shaped piece of paper and stuck up on the wall. I don't know what I did to be nominated, or who nominated me. While I appreciate the congratulations that I received all day, a pay raise would ultimately be much more useful than a piece of paper or a pin. Can I make a trade, perhaps?
