Wow... hard to believe I've been on Fubar over 4 years.
To be honest, I spent little time on the site at first because the real-life friends who'd invited me had already left. But about a year later, I checked back... and to my surprise found several friends from MySpace were now genuine fu-addicts. So I stuck around and naturally became hooked as well.
Here on Fubar, I tend to keep things easy. I avoid drama, and for the most part stick to my own page. Although I do play a few games (Mafia, PowerPool, and occasionally Secret Admirer). And lately I've been pushing to level up so I can help out others by pimping them out.
Over the years, I've made some great friends here on Fubar. I pretty much just accepted anyone who sent me an invite. And I've added several people to my family because they needed Angel family adds to level up. However, I've decided it's time to be a little more restrictive.
Maybe it's just that I'm paying a bit more attention... but I've seen more and more fake profiles and troublemakers in recent months. So I've decided to do a little spring cleaning:
1. I will be going through my Family list.
I don't currently belong to any of the family groupings here on Fubar, so I've pretty much just treated my Family list as an elite grouping of my friends. Plus those I added to help them level. However, that's about to change. Going forward, my Family list will be reserved for my closest fu-friends, real-life friends, and those who have helped me the most in one way or another. Note that I did NOT say those who have sent me bling.
2. I will go through my Friends list and reomove anyone without an approved salute.
If I remove you, it's nothing personal. I'm not saying you aren't who you claim to be. And you're welcome to add me again when you have a salute. Or if you have a webcam, feel free to jump on cam to show me you are, indeed, real. But otherwise, do not be surprised if you are removed.
NOTE: If I know you in real life, you will not be removed.
3. if I discover your profile is faked, you will be removed and reported.
'Nuff said.
4. Going forward, I will not approve blank friend invites or invites from people without approved salutes.
Which makes sense. Because let's face it: I don't want to make this an annual event.
I'm not looking forward to this, and hopefully only a few people will be removed. But it's got to be done.
So let's just keep this drama free... get it over with... and get back to having fun!
