Being from Colorado, I am in the minority when it comes to my football team. This is definitely Broncos country.
But I grew up in Upstate NY. As such I was a Bills fan. My first game was being taken by my dad for my birthday to go see 'The Juice' aka OJ Simpson run behind the Electric Company. I was there for the Ferguson years, and the Jim Kelly years when they went to four straight superbowls. Well, as I left town to move cross country, it turns out there are many displaced Bills fans across the country.
When I moved to Denver, I found out about the Colorado Bills Backers. We get together every Sunday during football season to watch our team play in a local bar who's manager is originally from Buffalo as well. We go through the highs and the lows just as we did back east. Lots of fun and frustration.
But its also a networking opportunity. I look at it no different than when the immigrants came over from Europe and would migrate into neighborhood of fellow countrymen who they could relate to. Same here. Its an opportunity to socialize with those who grew up in the same enviroment as you did.
So, in a few hours I will be down with the others at my local pub rooting on my favorite team. If you would want to join us, our website is.
