A Special Angel
A little boy runs to his Dad
"Daddy, Daddy why has it got to happen to us"
The Father lifted the little boy up, and give him the biggest hug in all the world. With tears running down his cheeks he tried to explain.
"Son, I know you may be a little young to understand all this, but let me try to explain. God works in many wondrous ways, and needs very special people to help him with his work"
The boy looked at him in a mysterious way, not understanding but wishing him to go on.
"Your Mom was very special, a lady who we both loved deeply. Her life was full of kindness, never did a bad word she said. But the pain she suffered was more than she could take. She asked the Lord to take her soul so we didn't see her suffer. So we could remember her and love her, the way she we always did.
Choking back the tears, he continued "But just before the Angels came to carry her away, she made a plea to God to give her one last wish".
"Please God, before you take my soul, let me ask you for one last favour. I have two special people in my life, one to whom I married and one I am a Mother. Let me look after them and guide them from above"
The Lord just gazed down from Heaven and smiled sweetly at your Mom "Consider it done", he said gently.
"Your Mom then closed her eyes and let the angels carry her away.
"So now you know my dearest Son, when things may be going bad, when times are dark and you are all afraid. Just look up to Heaven, and pray to your own special Angel. She will help you and guide you, and hold your hand and guide you to all the bad things end."
The Boy looked up at his Dad, and give him an extra Hug. "Dad", he began "Last night when I went to bed, and said my evenings prayers. I prayed for you and Mammy like I always did. But just before I went to bed, I gazed out of the window and a marvelous site I saw. There amongst the stars was the brightest star of all, blinking away looking down on me. Dad I now believe I have just seen my Special Angel looking down on me"
