When you look in my eyes,
Tell me what you see.
Do my eyes tell you,
What my life has been?
Can you look deep in my soul,
And see all there is there to expose.
Can you see the hurt and pain?
Yet the happiness, despite all that has been?
My eyes hold the story,
To this book that has been written.
The journey has been long and is not over yet,
However, I have no regrets.
I am strong and true to myself.
The biggest lesson I have learned here.
When it is time for me to go home,
I hope I have gained everything from here.
