(i wrote this many years ago but copyrighted it in 2004...i get to spend time with my son on a fairly regular basis and to this day he still asks me when will he be able to come home...it tears my soul everytime i have to tell him "not right now honey")

There was this boy I once knew He came into my life and made my soul anew
My days were full and bright too With butterflies and tulips blue
I loved him so and still do
People thought I did not pay my due
He was rudely taken from me and they forced me to bid him adieu
My heart knows I have paid my due
Our bond is still there though they don't want it to
I love him for my heart is true So, I will make do
