We didn't play. Lame. Not because we didn't go, which we did. Not because we didn't feel like it, we wanted to. However, there was just a shitstorm of miscommunication that contributed to everyone getting fucked over... We didn't even know if any other bands were playing. Had no clue. Didn't know what time we were supposed to play, although we had to be there by 7:30.
We were then told that MonTana (Sith Entertainment, the girl that booked us) was going to be there at 8:30pm, and was also supposed to be our door person.
Joe called the bar and asked if there was a PA system there--this happened around 12pm. Person on other end of the phone said there was. Sweet!
Get there, no one knows what's going on. Upside is that Tasha, the bartender, was not only really damn hot, but a total sweetheart as well, and made the whole ordeal much more manageable.
The downside was that there was no PA. Despite what we were told before... Then we're told that the bar's owner was bringing a PA; then were told that Montana was bringing it. erm.....
So, it's passing 10pm, Montana's not there, the bar owner isn't there, we have no PA, we're agitated... Long story short is after calling Montana, she called us back, and had explained that no, she was not going to be there because of work, which "the bar knew about"... No PA was news to her...
So we ended up leaving shortly after 10p, gear still in our vehicles, and came home, unhappy, tired, bored, bummed, and a bit in shock that this kind of thing happened...
Let's hope that the Boardwalk show goes better--at least we KNOW they have a PA! :D
