I am a single mother
it's a lonely job it's true,
through all the tears and tantrums
theres no one there but you.
You clean up all their cuts and scrapes
put kisses on them too,
you listen to their problems
and try to guide them through.
Sometimes you wish someone was there
through the good times and the bad,
someone that you could turn to
when your lonely or just sad.
But then there are the good times
the laughter and the joy,
theres kisses and theres cuddles
that make you feel so high.
But as anyone will tell you
the best part of the day
is when their tucked up safe and sound
and you can do just what you may.
